You'll own how Loadsmart's AI agents work inside the four walls of the warehouse. That covers the handoffs where the WMS meets the yard, the dock, the TMS and the ERP, and where most of the manual exception work still lives.
Loadsmart builds the systems of record for transportation and the dock: ShipperGuide (TMS) and OpenDock (dock, yard and gate scheduling). On top of them sits Loadsmart AI, a layer of agents that handle tendering, tracking, documents, scheduling, audits and claims for enterprise shippers. Next, we're extending that layer into warehouse operations. We know the transportation side deeply. We need someone who knows how warehouses really run, and how WMS data and transactions move between systems
LOCATION: Chicago - Hybrid (Travel to customer sites up to about 15% ).
TEAM: Product
WHAT YOU GET TO DO:
Map the seams. Document the cross-system workflows from dock to stock and from order to ship. Show where each event, object and decision lives across WMS, YMS, TMS and ERP.
Pick the workflows. Rank warehouse exception workflows by frequency, cost and how easily they can be automated, then decide which ones agents take on first.
Specify the agents. Define what each agent senses, decides and does, what it may write back to the WMS, and where a human stays in the loop.
Design the integrations. Work with engineering on how we read from and write to tier-1 WMS platforms: APIs, events, EDI, flat files and middleware.
Work with operators, not just on documents. Spend real time on distribution center floors with design-partner customers. Sit with engineers as the domain expert, not as a ticket writer.
Arm the field. Help sales and solutions teams pitch and scope warehouse use cases credibly with VPs of distribution and their IT teams.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
6-10 years across warehouse operations and WMS implementation, integration or solution consulting.
Hands-on experience with at least two of: Manhattan (WMOS or Active WM), Blue Yonder WMS, SAP EWM, Oracle WMS Cloud, Körber/HighJump, Infor WMS.
Fluency in the WMS object model: ASNs, receipts, LPNs, putaway, replenishment, waves, tasks, picking, load building, ship confirm.
You've built or specified WMS-TMS-ERP integrations (EDI 856/940/945, APIs, middleware) and know where they break in production.
Time on a distribution center floor, as a supervisor, engineer, analyst or on go-lives, enough that you know how the work actually happens versus how it's documented.
Product instinct. You'd rather build something repeatable once than configure it 50 times for 50 customers.
Comfort with ambiguity and with working closely with engineers who move fast.
NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with yard, dock scheduling or labor management systems.
Exposure to AI agents, LLM-based automation or orchestration platforms.
Pre-sales or solution consulting experience with enterprise shippers.
Spanish or Portuguese fluency.
