We are passionate about space, our customers, our company, and our team. As a Thermal Engineering Associate Manager, you will:

Coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Directs application of research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

Typical Minimums :

  • Generally has 5+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.
  • Manage a team of 5-8 thermal engineers by providing oversight, technical mentoring, career development, training, and performance reviews
  • Work collaboratively with the programs your team supports and with functional leadership to manage staffing requirements and plan job assignments to sustain engineering capabilities and critical skills
  • Represent the organization in design reviews and external interactions, practicing Full Spectrum

Manages the research, planning, design and development of mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related technical field) or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Prior experience as a formal technical lead or manager
  • Thorough knowledge of heat transfer and thermodynamics, particularly related to GEO and LEO space applications.
  • TVAC test experience, including planning, setup, execution and post-test model correlation.
  • Proficient (minimum 5 years experience) with finite difference and/or finite element numerical solution tools (e.g., Thermal Desktop,
  • SINDA, NX Thermal)
  • Ability to obtain Secret and Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
