Standard Job Description

Plans, implements, tests, documents, and maintains solutions for the integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS/GOTS components, elements, subsystems and/or systems. Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints. Establishes functional and technical specifications and standards, solves hardware/software interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem. Reviews, evaluates and derives requirements for testability, develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for complete systems and/or subsystems. Coordinates subsystem and/or system testing activities with programs and other organizations. Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive subsystem and/or system level evaluation reports which verify and validate system performance. Writes discrepancy reports and performs integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes to software, components, subsystems and systems.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related STEM discipline from an accredited institution.

  • Foundational understanding of systems integration, verification, validation, and test principles.

  • Experience using standard laboratory or electronic test equipment through coursework, internships, or professional assignments.

  • Ability to collect, analyze, document, and communicate test results accurately.

  • Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to investigate hardware, software, or system-level issues.

  • Proficiency with standard productivity and data-analysis tools, including Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments while meeting quality and schedule requirements.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain any security clearance or program access required for the position.

Desired Skills

  • Internship, co-op, academic, or professional experience in systems integration, verification, validation, manufacturing test, or automated testing.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and test procedures.
  • Familiarity with standard electronic test equipment, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, data-acquisition systems, and signal generators.

  • Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, software, or system-level issues.

  • Familiarity with automated test environments and tools such as LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, MATLAB, or similar applications.

  • Basic understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and test requirements.

  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and presenting test data using tools such as Microsoft Excel or data-analysis software.

  • Familiarity with requirements management, configuration management, and formal engineering change processes.

  • Understanding of test procedure development, test readiness, acceptance testing, and verification methods.

  • Exposure to manufacturing environments and collaboration with production, quality, design engineering, and program teams.

  • Strong technical writing, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple assignments.

  • Familiarity with defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated products and processes.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $52400.00 - $97400.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
