Job Summary:
Environment - AWS Outposts on premises. AWS highly available low latency platform for business critical applications rail control system switch and route control etc.
Objective - Ensure stability evolution and operation of the platform on which most of the customers real time systems will run in the future
Team Tasks Responsibilities:
- Provide base infrastructure for other teams
- EC2 instances storage VPCssubnets security groups network gateways
- DNS infrastructure Route 53 resolver Lambda automation
- ContainerCloud team provides OpenShift clusters on the provisioned resources
- Message broker team and other domaininfrastructure teams
- Implement and maintain CDK stacks mainly in TypeScript including for
- VPCsubnet layouts transit local gateways Direct Connect endpoints
- DNS Lambdas automated creationupdate of DNS records for dynamically created EC2worker nodes
- EC2 asset cost tagging
- Load balancing solutions
- Standard ALBNLB
- Custom HAProxybased load balancers local LB RDP proxy via PrivateLink
- Key management with AWS KMS
- EC2 Image Builder pipelines incl AMI resolver stagedependent image versioning
- Build and operate additional services on the platform eg
- Oracle API for provisioning Oracle databases EC2based in DEV ODA appliances in NPPROD
- RDP proxy PrivateLink solution for systems in the field of lighting and control engineering
- Special ALBs for specific application teams
- Decommission obsolete technologies eg TIPCO RV migrate to target architecture
- Build and maintain monitoring Lambdas metrics exporters and forwarders
- Forward logsmetrics to CloudWatch Prometheus Grafana Splunk
- Create and maintain Grafana dashboards and Prometheus rules eg for end to end test app LBs jump hosts PrivateLink
- Implement customer security and compliance requirements
- Central WAF in front of all load balancers
- IAM Access Analyzer role and permission monitoring
- Tagging standards cost centers stage project IDs etc
- Use and analyze AWS Health Events health stack forward to Teams channels and derive actions cluster upgrades maintenance windows etc
- Codesign the deployment pipelines Jenkins for the various stacks
- Expand automation ensure idempotent releases
- Use the deployment checker to ensure correct stack versions baseline files dependency order deviation analysis
- Maintain and adapt buildtest pipelines incl Jest tests infrastructure tests
- Execute releases across all stages DEV NP PROD including coordination with adjacent teams
- Maintain and consolidate technical documentation Confluence network and architecture diagrams checklists
- Contribute to knowledge buildingtransfer support new team members buddymentor concept
- Participate in agile processes eg SAFelike PIs with 5 sprints including 1 innovation sprint actively contribute to refinements and sprint planning
- Coordinate closely with security data center operations containercloud message broker and monitoring teams
Professional Technical Requirements:
- Must have
- Several years of handson experience in a cloudDevOps environment ideally with AWS
- Very good understanding of
- AWS core services EC2 VPC subnets Route 53 ALBNLB CloudWatch IAM KMS SSM PrivateLink WAF
- Networking concepts routing CIDR security groupsNACLs VPNDirect Connect Transit Gateway Local Gateway redundancy concepts
- Experience with infrastructure as code
- AWS CDK preferred in TypeScript or comparable tools CloudFormation Terraform etc
- Ability to understand adapt and develop CDK stacks
- Solid programming experience especially
- TypeScript JavaScript logic in Lambdas CDK code Jest tests
- Confident with common Nodejs toolchains npm linting testing
- Experience with CICD pipelines eg Jenkins GitLab CI or similar and automated tests
- Experience operating businesscritical systems SLAs monitoring incident handling
- Experience with AWS Outposts or other hybridon prem cloud environments
- Knowledge of KubernetesOpenShift cluster operations worker node concepts placement groups
