The Role
Mach's Summer 2027 Engineering Internship, Software is open for future engineers and builders who want to work with us. This is a paid, in-person, 12-week internship.
Depending on your background and team placement, you might work on:
Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) - guidance algorithms, state estimation, trajectory planning, feedback control, and autonomy for unmanned platforms
Flight & autonomy software - real-time software, flight control systems, autonomy stacks, and algorithms for next-generation vehicles
Embedded software - low-level firmware, device drivers, hardware interfaces, and real-time systems running on embedded platforms
Simulation & modeling - high-fidelity simulations, digital twins, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and tools for developing and validating autonomous systems
Perception & sensor fusion - processing data from cameras, IMUs, GPS, radar, and other sensors to enable reliable navigation and situational awareness
Testing & validation - software-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, automated testing, flight testing, and analyzing system performance under demanding conditions
Systems integration - integrating software across flight computers, embedded hardware, sensors, actuators, and autonomous platforms
Engineering tools & infrastructure - developer tools, simulation infrastructure, data pipelines, telemetry, CI/CD, and software that accelerates engineering velocity
What We're Looking For
Enrollment in a BS, MS, or PhD program in software engineering or a related engineering discipline
Intellectual curiosity and the drive to own problems end-to-end
Genuine interest in defense technology, national security, or the future of autonomous systems
- Ability to complete in an in-person 12-week internship in one of our offices in summer 2027
Additional Requirements
- Available to work extended hours and weekends as needed
ITAR Requirements
To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Pay Range
$30—$55 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offers may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and training, critical skills, and business considerations.
