Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee the production process making sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality
• Displays ability to make decisions; Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Supports and explains reasoning for decisions; Includes appropriate people in decision-making process; Makes timely, data driven decisions

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

• Maintain a safe and healthful working environment where zero lost time injuries are the standard of work by all LMV employees.
• Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and procedures, promoting and practicing safety first policy, including housekeeping
• Maintain a motivated and proud teamwork environment with ownership in workmanship. Encourage two-way, open and friendly attitudes at all times. Be approachable and listen to employees.
• Work out and implement standard Work Instructions for production operations and ensure that they are adhered to as well as audited to the appropriate schedule.
• Monitor the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed.
• Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant departments including Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics and Management.
• Promote, encourage, and educate ownership mindset to all production and support functions.
• Participate and develop in active succession planning.
• Respond to Customer Complaints/Requests/Concerns within a timely manner.
• Support efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey.
• Conducting regular talks with Production employees on their individual job performances with helpful work-related feedback during reviews (individual corrective action plans).
• Production employees receive timely performance reviews annually.
• Deal fairly, with dignity and respect, with all employees.
• Resolve and help employees with their concerns.
• Apply consistent and fair progressive discipline to those employees who do not follow plant rules.
• Conduct communication meetings with all departments discussing issues within the work areas.
• Determine and implement improvements to the production process.
• Monitors scrap material costs and finds ways to improve and minimize.
• Ensures rework is complete and quarantine is kept to an acceptable operating level.
• Be on call 24 hours per day for emergencies.
• Responsible for adhering to OSHA and EPA regulations.
• Actively participate in the cross-management team in achieving world class performance in safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement activities.
• Promotes an environment where zero injuries are the expected standard.
• Treat all employees equally, fairly, with dignity and respect without favoritism in accordance with company core values.
• Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise production employees in a production environment.
• Manages one complete shift consisting of Area Leaders, Team Leaders, and direct production employees.
• Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems; interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees.

Education and/or Experience:

• Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Degree in business administration, management, engineering, industrial technology or related field or combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to problem solve.
• Intermediate computer skills required.
• Ability to communicate with others, both verbal and written.
• Able to prepare, read, write and interpret reports, instructions, procedures and business correspondence.
• Able to clearly and effectively respond to questions from management, employees, suppliers and customers.
• Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Able to work flexible hours to be available to three shifts.
