About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Milan within the RB&E Department in Milan, the Host / Hostess is responsible for delivering a warm, professional, and personalized guest welcome, ensuring efficient reservation management and a seamless dining experience in line with Mandarin Oriental standards. The Host / Hostess reports to the Hostess Team Leader.
As Host / Hostess, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- To welcome and seat guests in accordance with Mandarin Oriental standards, ensuring a positive first impression
- To present menus and provide initial guidance, ensuring guests feel comfortable and well attended
- To manage reservations across all channels, ensuring accuracy and optimization of seating capacity
- To maintain and update guest profiles, preferences, and special requests
- To handle guest enquiries, requests, and feedback in a professional and timely manner
- To manage guest complaints with care, escalating when necessary
- To coordinate guest flow and communicate effectively with service and kitchen teams
- To liaise with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery
- To support the set-up and organization of reception and service stations
- To assist in daily operations and administrative tasks within the department
- To manage email correspondence and reservation systems efficiently
- To participate in daily briefings and team communication
- To ensure guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience
- To carry out any additional duties as required to support operations

- To communicate effectively in both English and Italian, written and verbal
- To demonstrate strong interpersonal and guest service skills
- To exhibit excellent organisational and administrative abilities
