Actuarial Analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and analytical Actuarial Analyst to join our actuarial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a new graduate, an early-career professional, or someone with a quantitative background who is interested in building a career in financial services and insurance. Actuarial work combines data analysis, financial modelling, risk assessment, and business problem solving to help an insurance company design and price products, understand its financial performance, and meet its commitments to customers. The role will provide hands-on exposure to actuarial work, with structured coaching and development from experienced actuarial professionals. Prior actuarial experience is not required.

Position Responsibilities:

• Support regular actuarial valuation and financial reporting activities, including data preparation, model runs, result checking, reconciliations, and preparation of reporting materials.
• Assist with product pricing and product-related analysis, including preparing data and assumptions, running pricing models, checking outputs, and documenting results.
• Collect, validate, and analyze actuarial and business data; investigate unusual results or data issues and escalate findings as appropriate.
• Maintain and update actuarial models, spreadsheets, databases, process documentation, and working files under the guidance of senior team members.
• Support experience studies, assumption reviews, forecasts, financial planning, and other recurring or ad hoc actuarial analyses.
• Prepare clear summaries, reports, and presentation materials to communicate analysis and key observations to actuarial colleagues and other stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues in Actuarial, Finance, Product, Risk, IT, and other functions to obtain inputs, resolve issues, and deliver work accurately and on time.
• Look for opportunities to improve the efficiency and quality of actuarial processes through better use of Excel, VBA, AI tools, or other relevant technology, while following applicable controls and governance requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or another relevant quantitative or business discipline.
• New graduates and candidates from accounting, finance, banking, audit, risk, data analytics, or other relevant financial-services backgrounds are welcome to apply. Prior actuarial experience is not required for the Actuarial Analyst level; relevant experience may be considered for appointment at the Senior Actuarial Analyst level.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to analyze information logically, question results, and identify practical solutions.
• Strong numerical aptitude, attention to detail, and commitment to producing accurate, well-documented work.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word; knowledge of VBA, AI tools, or other data and automation tools is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Good written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and willingness to learn from feedback.
• Genuine interest in developing a long-term actuarial career within the insurance industry, including openness to pursuing professional actuarial qualifications with company support.
