Manulife is a Canadian insurance and asset management group founded in Toronto in 1887, with the first Canadian prime minister as its founding president. Headquartered in Toronto and listed in Toronto, New York and Hong Kong, it earns a growing share of its profit in Asia and has been reducing its exposure to legacy long-term care liabilities through reinsurance transactions.
