Position Responsibilities:
The Sr. Director, EMEA+SAL Finance serves as the senior finance leader for the company’s largest geographic region, acting as the regional CFO and partner to the VP/GM of the EMEA+SAL region. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the role is responsible for driving financial performance for Europe, Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, strengthening operational control and command, and building a high-performing regional finance organization capable of supporting a complex industrial business. The position will partner closely with regional leadership to translate strategy into operational execution while ensuring strong financial discipline, forecasting accuracy, and alignment with corporate financial objectives. The Sr. Director is accountable for accounting, controls, financial systems, operations finance, reporting, analysis, commercial finance, and regulatory and compliance within the region. This role also plays a key part in the company’s ongoing finance transformation efforts, improving the maturity of financial processes, analytics, and business partnership across the region.
This position is viewed as a leader by the DFS Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and can work collaboratively with the CFO and VP/GM of EMEA+SAL on strategic matters, represent both Finance and the business in cross-functional teams. This position drives a culture of integrity, at their core is a people and process developer and driver of accountability. Direct reports include five finance leaders across the EMEA+SAL region, and the head of regional FP&A.

FP&A and Business Partnership
- Own the regional AOP, quarterly forecast and strategic plan submissions - strengthen a bottoms up/site build up based on clear assumptions to drive accountability
- Serve as the primary finance partner to the EMEA & SAL VP/GM (Managing Director); challenge commercial commitments, pressure-test margin assumptions and hold the business to its plan
- Partner with site-level finance leaders to ensure a consistent and credible operating cadence across sites - weekly, monthly and quarterly rhythms that are connected to business processes to yield predictable outcomes
- Provide the CFO with an independent read of regional performance
Team Leadership
- Lead a regional finance team including EMEA FP&A, EMEA Controllership (dotted-line) and Site Finance leaders - establishing clarity of roles, accountability, and performance expectations for the team
- Raise the bar for EMEA+SAL site financial teams to command their four-walls and financial statements
- Develop finance talent in the region with an eye toward building a bench
Operational and Commercial Support
- Partner with operations leadership across sites to ensure financial discipline in cost management, capex investments and working capital management
- Support commercial leadership on pricing decisions, deal economics and margin/mix analysis - bringer of financial rigor without becoming an obstacle to commercial agility
- Lead or support regional projects including product rationalization, improved site-level financial analysis as the DFS Finance Transformation progresses
What we need:
Essentials:
- 15+ years of experience backed by leadership and integrity. Proven track record of operating as an independent and transparent finance voice.
- Chartered qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or regional equivalent) & experience of supporting the rigor of a publicly traded enterprise, based in the US.
- Experience in a Finance Director in global manufacturing, automotive, industrial or capital goods business with full P&L ownership. Environments where operations, cost accounting and commercial finance intersect.
- Strength using financial information to influence business decision making. Able to create or improve financial reporting and analysis to shape better decisions.
- Strong background in business-facing finance roles including operational finance and FP&A leadership. Balanced experience across FP&A and Controllership
- An ability to create loyalty and trust. One who can energize people and teams and make cross-functional and cross-region cooperation happen.
Strongly Preferred:
- A career foundation in Big 4 public accounting
- Multi-site or multi-country finance leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to set a standard for site financial leaders from a distance
- Comfort navigating a matrixed organization where functional authority (to the CFO) and local influence (to the GM) must be managed simultaneously
- Demonstrates courage of conviction for their positions while being intellectually agile, transparent, and flexible.
- Prior experience to margin-improvements plans (80/20, CI, etc.)
