Must-Have Skills:
- Manual Testing
- Hardware Device Testing - experience with physical devices such as transit devices, medical devices, PoS systems, scanners, or similar products. Mobile application/mobile device testing alone is not considered relevant.
- API Testing - hands-on experience with tools such as Postman or equivalent.
- Database Testing - strong SQL and backend data validation experience.
- Basic Automation Testing - hands-on experience executing or maintaining automated test scripts/frameworks.

V&V Senior Engineer:
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with Engineering Leads to understand system requirements and translate them into test requirements and scenarios.
- Develop and execute system, integration, and formal test plans, test cases, test procedures, and test reports.
- Work closely with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams to define and execute effective test strategies.
- Conduct testing of hardware devices, software applications, APIs, databases, and integrated systems.
- Perform device/system procedures, software builds, integration testing, and system validation.
- Trace system requirements from customer specifications through test cases and test results.
- Identify, document, track, and drive the resolution of defects, ARQs, and system issues.
- Validate test procedures and maintain test environments and test data as required.
- Maintain test requirements and test management databases.
- Prepare test status reports and communicate progress, risks, issues, and dependencies to management and relevant stakeholders.
- Support Test Readiness Reviews and prepare required presentation and test documentation.
- Work closely with Engineering from the Analysis and Design phases to ensure testability, product quality, and timely delivery.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior test engineers where required.
- Identify testing resources, schedules, and dependencies and support overall test planning.
- Interface with customers, contractors, vendors, and cross-functional engineering teams as required.
- Work with QA teams to address corrective actions resulting from reviews and audits.
- Maintain awareness of current testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Support other V&V/System Test activities and departmental projects as required.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Technology/Engineering (B.Tech) or Master's in Computer Applications (MCA), Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Skills, Experience & Knowledge:
- 5 - 10 years of hands-on experience in software/system testing or Verification & Validation.
- Strong experience in manual testing and end-to-end system validation.
- Hands-on experience testing physical hardware/embedded devices such as transit devices, medical devices, PoS systems, scanners, or similar products.
- Experience with API testing and tools such as Postman or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of databases and SQL for data validation and backend testing.
- Basic hands-on experience with test automation and automated test execution/frameworks.
- Experience testing complex engineering products or systems, preferably in a hardware/software integrated environment.
- Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and testing life cycle.
- Experience with defect/test management tools such as JIRA and test management tools.
- Experience working with embedded systems is a plus.
- Knowledge or experience in the Transit/AFCS domain is desirable.
- Familiarity with software development concepts and exposure to languages such as C++, C#, or Java is desirable.
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP, UNIX/Linux, and system-level troubleshooting is desirable.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
