Job Summary

Summary

The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will support a federally funded research program focused on advancing community-based self-management interventions for individuals living with chronic burn injury. The fellow will contribute to all phases of the research process, including systematic reviews, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, implementation science research, stakeholder engagement, intervention development, and dissemination of findings. The fellow will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigators and collaborate with a team of researchers.

Essential Functions

-Design, plan, and execute research experiments or projects in alignment with departmental goals.

-Gather, analyze, and interpret data using appropriate statistical methods and tools.

-Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to inform research direction and methodologies.

-Prepare and publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences and seminars.

-Work collaboratively with faculty, students, and other researchers, contributing to a positive research environment.

-Mentor graduate and undergraduate students, providing guidance on research methodologies and techniques.

-Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and funding applications to support ongoing research.

-Prepare periodic reports and documents summarizing research progress and outcomes.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of implementation science, rehabilitation research, health services research, public health, or related research methodologies.

Knowledge of qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research designs, including data collection, management, analysis, and interpretation.

Understanding of implementation science frameworks and models, including the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR), RE-AIM, Implementation Mapping, and related approaches.

Knowledge of systematic review methods, evidence synthesis, and scientific literature appraisal.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and develop evidence-based recommendations.

Demonstrated ability to conduct qualitative interviews, focus groups, stakeholder workshops, and community-engaged research activities.

Experience with statistical and qualitative data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, Stata, NVivo, or equivalent).(Preferred)

Strong scientific writing skills with the ability to prepare manuscripts, reports, abstracts, and presentations for diverse audiences.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.
