Its vacancies, posted on behalf of clients, include civil, mechanical, process and EICA engineers, CAD technicians, software developers, project managers and site staff across the UK.

Our client, a growing organisation in the aerospace and advanced engineering sector, is seeking a General Manager / Facilities Lead for a permanent, site-based role in Llanbedr. This senior position will provide visible leadership across the facility, ensuring the office, engineering, MRO and operational environments remain safe, secure, compliant, professional and fit for purpose.

The role combines facilities management, site leadership, security, operational coordination and stakeholder engagement. It will involve close collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, customers, the landlord, aviation facility stakeholders, local authorities and Welsh Government representatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the senior, visible site-based representative, taking day-to-day ownership of the effective running of the Llanbedr facility.
  • Coordinate requirements across office, MRO, engineering and operational areas, ensuring the site remains organised, well presented and fit for purpose.
  • Manage maintenance, repairs, contractors, utilities, infrastructure, planned works and facilities-related improvements while minimising disruption to operations.
  • Ensure appropriate standards of housekeeping, access control, signage, storage, visitor management and general site presentation.
  • Lead the implementation of physical and operational security arrangements, identifying vulnerabilities and coordinating any remedial action.
  • Champion health, safety and compliance by supporting inspections, audits, risk assessments, corrective actions and contractor controls.
  • Act as the principal host for customer, supplier and stakeholder visits, including demonstrations, tours and events involving MRO, engineering or operational areas.
  • Build effective working relationships with the landlord, aviation and airfield stakeholders, Welsh Government, local authorities, suppliers and other external organisations.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong experience in facilities management, site management, operations management or general management, ideally within aerospace, aviation, defence, manufacturing, engineering or another regulated environment.
  • Demonstrable experience managing an operational facility or complex site.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety, contractor management, facilities services and business continuity.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining physical security, controlled access and visitor management arrangements.
  • Confident managing senior external stakeholders, suppliers, commercial partners, government bodies and local authorities.
  • Ability to work effectively across office, operational, manufacturing and MRO environments.
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving and prioritisation skills, with a practical approach to resolving issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent an organisation professionally.
  • Knowledge of UK health and safety requirements applicable to office and manufacturing environments.
  • A relevant facilities management, health and safety, security or operational management qualification would be advantageous.

Personal Attributes:

  • Visible, approachable and comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day site matters.
  • Practical, hands-on and focused on driving issues through to resolution.
  • Highly organised, with sound commercial judgement and strong attention to detail.
  • Calm and pragmatic when priorities change or operational challenges arise.
  • Confident moving between practical site issues and senior stakeholder discussions.
  • Committed to high standards of safety, security, professionalism and presentation.

Measures of Success:

  • A safe, compliant, secure and well-run Llanbedr facility.
  • MRO, operational and office environments that support current and future business requirements.
  • Effective implementation of site security and access arrangements.
  • Timely resolution of facilities, safety, security and operational actions.
  • Professional management of customer, supplier and stakeholder visits.
  • Strong relationships with the landlord, aviation stakeholders, Welsh Government and external partners.
  • Continued improvement of the facility as operations develop.
