At Materialise Medical, we believe that better healthcare starts with solutions designed around the individual patient. If you’re passionate about bringing personalized care to every patient, you’ll love being a part of this team. Through the technology we develop, researchers, engineers, and clinicians are revolutionizing personalized treatment - helping improve and save lives daily.

We are looking for an Account Manager - Orthopaedics to join our BeNe team, covering Belgium and the Netherlands.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing our Orthopaedics business within your territory. You will build strong relationships with surgeons and hospitals, identify new business opportunities, grow existing accounts, and drive the adoption of Materialise’s Orthopaedic solutions.

This is a hands-on commercial role that combines customer management, business development, clinical engagement, and strategic account development.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Take ownership of the Orthopaedics sales performance within your assigned territory.
  • Develop and execute a territory plan to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Identify new customers, hospitals, surgeons, and business opportunities.
  • Develop leads into qualified opportunities and convert opportunities into sales.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasts.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the use of Materialise solutions within existing accounts.
  • Proactively generate new business rather than relying solely on inbound opportunities.

Customer & Account Management

  • Build long-term relationships with Orthopaedic surgeons, hospitals, and key decision-makers.
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer needs, clinical workflows, and business challenges.
  • Manage strategic accounts and develop account plans for high-potential customers.
  • Act as the main commercial point of contact for your customers.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and follow up on opportunities throughout the customer journey.

Clinical & Field Activities

  • Work closely with surgeons and clinical teams to understand complex Orthopaedic cases and identify where Materialise solutions can add value.
  • Attend surgeries and support customers in the clinical environment when required.
  • Organize and participate in customer meetings, demonstrations, workshops, and training activities.
  • Present Materialise solutions clearly and confidently to surgeons and hospital stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with clinical experts and key opinion leaders.

Market Development

  • Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity within the BeNe Orthopaedics market.
  • Develop strategies to increase Materialise's presence and market share.
  • Identify opportunities for new applications, customers, and partnerships.
  • Represent Materialise at relevant Orthopaedic conferences, meetings, and events.
  • Work with Marketing and Product Management to support local market development initiatives.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Clinical Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Operations, and other internal teams to successfully develop and deliver customer opportunities.
  • Coordinate customer requirements internally and ensure effective follow-up.
  • Provide regular feedback on market developments, customer needs, competitors, and opportunities.
  • Share best practices and collaborate with Account Managers across other regions.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in Orthopaedic medical device sales, at least 3 years or a similar healthcare environment.
  • Strong commercial and business development mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new customers and grow existing accounts.
  • Experience working directly with surgeons and hospital stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to understand complex clinical needs and translate them into commercial opportunities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • A results-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English. French is a strong plus.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across Belgium and the Netherlands.

What You Bring

You are a hands-on, entrepreneurial sales professional who enjoys being close to customers and developing new business.

You are proactive in identifying opportunities, comfortable speaking with surgeons and senior hospital stakeholders, and motivated by achieving measurable results.

You take ownership of your territory and pipeline, while working collaboratively with internal teams to deliver the best possible solution for the customer.

Most importantly, you are excited by the opportunity to combine Orthopaedics, digital technology, 3D printing, and personalized healthcare to make a real impact on patients and clinicians.

Why Join Materialise?

  • Work at the intersection of technology, healthcare, and personalized medicine.
  • Represent innovative solutions in the rapidly evolving Orthopaedics market.
  • Build strong relationships with leading surgeons and hospitals.
  • Have significant ownership of your territory and direct impact on business growth.
  • Work in an international, innovative, and highly collaborative environment.
  • Develop your career within a global leader in 3D technology for healthcare.
