Hotel Manager

Matrix Hospitality PLC is inviting qualified, competent, and motivated candidates to apply for the position of Hotel Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the hotel, ensuring excellent guest satisfaction, efficient resource utilization, financial performance, staff productivity, and compliance with applicable laws and hospitality industry standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Hotel Manager shall:                                    

1. Plan, organize, direct, and supervise the overall hotel operations.
2. Ensure effective management of front office, housekeeping, restaurant, kitchen, maintenance, and other hotel departments.
3. Develop and implement business strategies to increase hotel occupancy, revenue, and profitability.
4. Maintain high standards of customer service and guest satisfaction.
5. Recruit, supervise, evaluate, and develop hotel employees.
6. Prepare and monitor annual operational plans and budgets.
7. Control operational costs and ensure efficient utilization of hotel resources.
8. Develop marketing and promotional strategies to attract customers.
9. Establish and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, tour operators, and other business partners.
10. Ensure compliance with employment, tax, health and safety, food hygiene, licensing, and other applicable legal requirements.
11. Prepare periodic operational and financial performance reports for management.
12. Develop and enforce internal policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
13. Identify operational challenges and recommend appropriate solutions.
14. Protect the hotel's property, reputation, and business interests.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Tourism Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in the hospitality industry, preferably with at least 2 years in a managerial position.
• Demonstrated experience in hotel operations and staff management.
• Strong financial management, budgeting, and cost-control skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of customer relationship management and hotel marketing.
• Familiarity with hotel management software and computer applications.
• Good command of English and Amharic. Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
