Hiring Unit:

Student Services - Schulich School of Music

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Manager of Student Services, Schulich School of Music, the incumbent may perform some or all of the listed general administration functions. These functions are of high complexity, and the incumbent performs them using general instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Front counter coverage, respond to general enquiries

• Assist in organizing and scheduling Comprehensive Exams, general exams and Exam Recitals for graduate students

• Follow up with examiners regarding assessment and evaluation

• Collects data and prepare entries for payroll

• Prepares letters for approval (could be for scholarships, immigration papers, etc).

• Assists with the follow-up of missing documents from students.

• Email correspondence, respond to enquiries, follows up as needed

• Direct graduate students to appropriate resources

• Prepare files for archives

• Other duties related to Graduate Studies

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

• Dynamic and enthusiastic with strong interpersonal skills.

• Good communication in person and via email.

• Demonstrated organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

• Enjoys working independently and as part of a team.

• In-depth knowledge of music and instrumental/vocal ensembles. Knowledge of the McGill University, Schulich School of Music graduate programs is an asset.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel.

• Basic French is an asset.
