As a WW / Regional Solution Engineer Lead, Cross-Solution Area, you will serve as a senior technical sales advisor, community leader, and operating-model builder for the SME&C Digital Solution Engineering community. You will provide technical leadership across Cloud & AI, Security, and AI Business Solutions, helping technical sellers operate effectively across solution areas and align technical strategies with customer and account priorities.
This is a leadership-through-influence role without direct people management. You will partner with Solution Engineering managers, sales leaders, account teams, partner organizations, Engineering, Product, and enablement teams to raise technical sales excellence across WW and regional teams.
You will help teams win technical decisions earlier in the customer journey, shape technical strategies for complex opportunities, strengthen cross-solution orchestration, and scale best practices across the technical community. Through deep technical and industry expertise, you will also help customers understand how Microsoft Cloud capabilities can address their business priorities and support secure, AI-powered transformation.
Responsibilities
Technical Sales Strategy
- Shape cross-solution technical strategies across Cloud & AI, Security, and AI Business Solutions, partnering with account and technical teams to strengthen customer win strategies.
- Bring customer, partner, competitive, and market insights into technical sales strategy while representing customer feedback and blockers to Engineering and Product teams.
Customer Engagement & Technical Wins
- Engage technical and business decision makers to understand customer priorities, lead technical discovery, and build credibility through deep cross-solution and industry expertise.
- Lead and support strategic technical engagements, helping teams position Microsoft solutions around customer business value and accelerate technical decisions and solution adoption.
Solution Architecture & Technical Proof
- Guide cross-solution architecture approaches and technical designs, connecting Microsoft technologies to customer modernization and AI transformation strategies.
- Lead or coach high-value demonstrations, architecture design sessions, pilots, and proofs of concept that validate Microsoft capabilities and address customer technical requirements.
Partner & Cross-Functional Orchestration
- Collaborate with Microsoft sales, technical, Engineering, Product, support, and partner teams to remove technical blockers and accelerate strategic customer opportunities.
- Strengthen partner sell-with motions by connecting teams with the appropriate partner capabilities, resources, and technical expertise.
Technical Leadership & Community
- Scale technical excellence across WW and regional teams through mentoring, best-practice sharing, technical communities, workshops, and one-to-many enablement.
- Identify technical capability and readiness gaps across the community and help develop scalable approaches that strengthen cross-solution expertise and execution.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
·Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field AND 4+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR equivalent experience.
·Professional proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, executives, and cross-functional stakeholders in both written and verbal business environments.
Additional or preferred qualifications
·Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field AND 8+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR equivalent experience.
·4+ years experience with cloud and hybrid, or on premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management.
·Certification in relevant (Microsoft or industry) technologies or disciplines (e.g., Microsoft Office 365; Power BI; Azure Administrator, Architecture, and Development exams; Cloud Platform Technologies; Information Security; Architecture).
