Compliance Manager

We are seeking a Compliance Manager to join our team. This position involves overseeing and executing Milsat's comprehensive compliance strategies, managing regulatory frameworks, ensuring data governance, and mitigating enterprise risks. The role requires working in a dynamic and professional environment, reporting directly to executive leadership.

Missions:

• Develop and implement Milsat's overarching compliance framework, aligning operations with Nigerian data protection laws (NDPA), NDPR, GDPR, and emerging African data regulations.
• Lead and conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and privacy-by-design audits across Milsat’s product development roadmap, including APIs, IoT sensors, and AI location models.
• Establish and enforce ethical data governance policies for large-scale field enumeration, satellite/spatial data pipelines, and public-sector integrations.
• Serve as the primary Liaison and Data Protection Officer (DPO), engaging with regulatory bodies such as NITDA, NDPB, survey regulatory agencies, and security organizations.
• Architect and manage end-to-end Know Your Business (KYB) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) protocols for multinational clients, government entities, and international NGOs, including risk assessments of complex corporate structures, UBO, politically exposed persons, and sanctions lists.
• Oversee and standardize compliance standards for Milsat's extensive field enumerator networks, drone pilots, and regional data collection vendors.
• Lead negotiations, drafting, and execution of high-value B2B agreements such as Data Transfer Agreements, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), SLAs, and API licensing.
• Manage external legal counsel regarding corporate matters, intellectual property protection, and dispute resolution.
• Design and maintain the Enterprise Risk Register, identifying emerging legal, operational, and geospatial compliance risks, and report these to the Board and executive management.
• Conduct regular internal audits and establish automated compliance tracking mechanisms for field and technical operations.
• Prepare and present compliance metrics, risk updates, and regulatory reports for the Board of Directors and senior leadership.
• Drive cross-functional compliance alignment with product development, engineering, sales, and field operations teams to ensure unified adherence to regulatory standards.
