Join a newly formed cross-location engineering team driving a Proof of Concept (PoC) for an open-source workload automation platform, with the aim to evolve this PoC into a scalable, production-grade solution.

You’ll play a critical role in architecting, building, and operating the platform and the supporting automation and CI/CD ecosystem with strong emphasis on reliability, security, and observability.

Requirements

• Deliver a PoC for open-source workload automation and support its transition to production-grade scale.
• Design, build, and maintain containerised services on Kubernetes for distributed workloads.
• Develop and operate automation and orchestration workflows (e.g., workload scheduling, data pipelines).
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
• Guide engineering teams on DevOps best practices including reproducibility, observability, and secure deployment principles.
• Contribute to testing strategies (automation, integration, release validation).
• Collaborate effectively across global teams, ensuring clear communication and ownership in multi-time-zone environments.

Benefits

• 5+ years in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
• Proven operational experience with Kubernetes in production or real-world deployments.
• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following:
  • Workload Automation
  • Kafka
  • Apache Airflow
• Strong coding/scripting experience (e.g., Python, Java, or similar).
• Demonstrated experience embedding testing into delivery practices, not just post-facto.
• Excellent communication skills to work across time zones with distributed teams.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with DevOps toolchain: Jenkins, Ansible, GitHub/GitHub Actions.
• Experience with scaling PoC solutions into enterprise-ready platforms (e.g., hardening, automation improvements, monitoring, operational readiness).
