About the Role

Mindteck is looking for an experienced Senior Kafka Engineer to design, deploy, administer, and troubleshoot enterprise-grade Confluent Kafka platforms running on Kubernetes.

We are seeking a hands-on professional with strong expertise in Confluent for Kubernetes (CFK), Kafka administration, Kubernetes networking, security, and production troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Confluent Kafka platforms using Confluent for Kubernetes.
• Design, implement, and manage production Kafka clusters, ensuring high availability, reliability, and scalability.
• Manage Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, ksqlDB, and Confluent Control Center.
• Configure and troubleshoot Kubernetes networking, ingress/egress, storage classes, and persistent volumes.
• Implement Kafka security best practices, including ACLs, encryption, and authentication.
• Troubleshoot complex Kafka issues involving brokers, partitions, consumer groups, message throughput, and latency.
• Configure monitoring, alerting, and logging for Kafka environments.
• Work with Linux, scripting, Docker, Kubernetes, and Python or Java.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams and provide shift-based support when required.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform.
• Practical experience with Confluent for Kubernetes (CFK) or the Confluent Operator.
• Strong Kubernetes administration and networking knowledge.
• Experience with Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, ksqlDB, and Control Center.
• Knowledge of ingress/egress, storage classes, persistent volumes, and Kubernetes networking.
• Experience with Kafka security, ACLs, encryption, authentication, and production troubleshooting.
• Good Linux and scripting skills, with working knowledge of Python or Java.
• Strong problem-solving and English communication skills.
