Deputy Director, Digital Platforms & AI Transformation

The role presents an exciting opportunity to shape NTU’s digital future by driving digital transformation and AI initiatives that enhance the university’s operations and campus experience. Reporting to the Director of Enterprise IT, the job holder will provide strategic vision, governance, and technical leadership across core enterprise platforms, including NTU’s websites, mobile applications, chatbots, and IT solutions and services.

Acting as a key bridge between central IT leadership and decentralised business units, the job holder will lead the delivery of innovative AI and digital solutions that optimise operations, enable organisational growth, and transform the campus living experience. The role will also ensure that NTU’s technology landscape remains secure, sustainable, scalable, and aligned with long-term enterprise architecture and strategic priorities.

Responsibilities:

• Engage stakeholders across multiple domain areas to understand their needs, define and implement technology solutions and enhancements; and assist them in planning and managing budget for their digital transformation initiatives.

• Stay abreast of emerging technologies, formulate multi-year strategic technology roadmaps and present business cases to executive steering committees and senior stakeholders.

• Lead the planning and implementation of technology solutions, overseeing the overall design, development, integration, and deployment of multiple systems/platforms.

• Drive change management and digital adoption strategies to ensure smooth transitions and minimal operational friction for end-users.

• Oversee the digital platforms and services, ensuring adherence to best practices, security standards, and performance optimisation.

• Manage procurement processes, contract renewals, and operational expenditure budgets to maximise technology return on investment.

• Oversee external system integrators, technology partners, and software vendors to ensure full SLA compliance, fiscal discipline, and project delivery velocity.

• Maintain rigorous IT audit readiness, ensuring zero high or medium risk findings across all managed digital ecosystems.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related discipline; or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Marketing, coupled with relevant technical experience.

• Minimum 15 years of experience in IT-related industries with at least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise IT management, digital transformation or platform engineering within large and complex organisation.

• Proven track record in orchestrating multi-site web enterprise consolidations and decentralised operational models.

• Possesses strong technical understanding of cloud architectures, enterprise content management systems, GenAI chatbot workflows, mobile app development, and API integrations.

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts through storytelling capabilities to a diverse group of users, including senior stakeholders.

• Excellent stakeholder management, interpersonal, and managerial skills, with strong change management capabilities.

• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and deliver results in a timely manner.

• Tenacity to take on challenges and handle ambiguity; and manage diverse views and seek consensus through open discussion.
