Senior Android Developer

We are hiring on behalf of our client, a global innovator in fitness and wellness technology. Their mission is to empower people to live fit, strong, long, and happy lives by delivering integrated experiences to millions of members anytime, anywhere.

They are now looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join the Product Engineering team, developing applications used by millions of members worldwide across mobile and connected fitness devices.

In this role, you will build and enhance customer-facing features in Kotlin, contributing to flagship Android experiences available on mobile and integrated with cutting-edge fitness hardware. You will play a key role in shaping processes, technology, and communication within the team, ensuring smooth collaboration and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain high-quality Android applications using Kotlin.
• Build customer-facing features for mobile and connected fitness devices.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, user-focused solutions.
• Optimize app performance, including UI, memory, and threading.
• Apply architecture patterns such as MVI and MVVM.
• Contribute to process and technology improvements within the team.
• Mentor and support other engineers to foster growth and best practices.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience inAndroid development with strong knowledge of Kotlin.
• Proficiency with Git for version control.
• Solid experience working withREST APIs.
• Strong understanding of Android architecture patterns, particularly MVI and MVVM.
• Experience profiling UI, memory, and threading performance in Android applications.
• Ability to effectively translate Product, UX, and UI requirements into clean, maintainable code.
• Proven ability to independently handle complex engineering tasks.
• Experience publishing applications to the Google Play Store - is a plus.
• Familiarity with automation testing tools such as Espresso.
