Motive is an American company founded in 2013, originally as KeepTruckin, that sells fleet management technology to trucking, construction, agriculture and field service businesses. Its products combine electronic logging devices mandated by American regulation, AI dashcams that detect unsafe driving, vehicle and equipment tracking, and a spend management card, which together turn a compliance purchase into an operating platform. Headquartered in San Francisco and valued in the billions, it serves tens of thousands of fleets and competes with Samsara for customers whose margins are thin enough that fuel and insurance savings matter directly.

Who we are:

Motive empowers the people who run physical operations with tools to make their work safer, more productive, and more profitable. For the first time ever, safety, operations and finance teams can manage their drivers, vehicles, equipment, and fleet related spend in a single system. Combined with industry leading AI, the Motive platform gives you complete visibility and control, and significantly reduces manual workloads by automating and simplifying tasks.

Motive serves nearly 100,000 customers - from Fortune 500 enterprises to small businesses - across a wide range of industries, including transportation and logistics, construction, energy, field service, manufacturing, agriculture, food and beverage, retail, and the public sector.

Business Objective of Role

  • Support net-new pipeline generation from new logo accounts by executing full-funnel, multi-channel campaigns in the market, using ABM as a core strategy.
  • Increase campaign effectiveness by bringing strong execution, organized operating processes, account and market research, and practical performance insights to segment priorities.

Role Responsibilities

Execute and support account-based marketing programs and demand generation campaigns

  • Execute integrated ABM programs for multiple sales segments.
  • Own selected ABM programs and campaign from brief creation through execution follow-up, including audience requirements, creative inputs, UAT, and stakeholder communication.
  • Partner with Content Marketing, Solutions Marketing and Product Marketing to map content and messaging to buyer needs and funnel stages, identify gaps, and coordinate requests for new assets.
  • Partner with Marketing Operations and Analytics to support audience segmentation, list hygiene, campaign setup, routing, and accurate campaign reporting.

Channel execution

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to launch, monitor, and improve campaigns and programs across email, LinkedIn, display, content syndication, web, webinars, direct mail, and any future channels we implement.
  • Own execution for select channels or activations with guidance, such as microsites, webinars, direct mail or gifting, and time-bound sales plays.
  • Ensure channel execution reflects approved campaign messaging, target-account priorities, and buyer journey stages.
  • Monitor channel activity and surface practical recommendations based on segment needs, buyer behavior, and campaign performance.

Campaign planning support

  • Contribute to quarterly planning by gathering inputs from Product Marketing, Marketing Operations, Channels, Events, Creative, Field, and other program partners.
  • Support webinar topic planning, direct-mail forecasting, asset planning, and creative briefing.
  • Ensure campaign timelines and deliverables are tracked, communicated, and updated as priorities change.

Reporting and optimization

  • Conduct account and market research to identify audience opportunities, relevant market signals, competitive insights, and timely campaign themes.
  • Troubleshoot executional roadblocks independently and escalate broader risks with clear context and recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve campaign processes, documentation, handoffs, calendars, and marketing resources.
  • Contribute to strategic projects that support demand generation goals, marketing OKRs, and growth across the business.

Core Competencies

  • Adaptability and continuous improvement: Thrives in a fast-moving environment, adapts priorities as business needs evolve, and continuously sharpens skills, processes, and judgment through feedback and experimentation. Brings a practical understanding of AI and agentic tools to improve individual output and team efficiency.
  • Marketing fundamentals: Working knowledge of demand generation, ABM frameworks, buyer personas, user journeys, funnel stages, and campaign channels. Understands how campaign activity supports pipeline creation across sales segments and applies established messaging frameworks and audience insights to execution.
  • User focus: Develops an understanding of audiences, account priorities, buying groups, and stakeholder needs while considering the perspectives of prospects, customers, and internal campaign partners. Uses account and market context to improve campaign relevance and timing.
  • Collaboration: Builds trusted relationships and collaborates effectively with Marketing Operations, Product Marketing, Content, Design, Channel, Events, Field Marketing, and other cross-functional partners. Incorporates feedback constructively and ensures reliable handoffs across marketing teams.
  • Analytical thinking: Comfortable reviewing campaign and pipeline performance data, using tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, Tableau, and Salesforce to organize information and communicate findings. Identifies trends, asks questions to understand performance drivers, and translates observations into practical recommendations with guidance.
  • Problem-solving and initiative: Independently resolves execution issues, identifies root causes and operational gaps, and proactively seeks opportunities to improve campaign outcomes. Follows work through to completion and takes ownership of assigned projects and programs.
  • Communication: Communicates clearly and concisely across written, verbal, and presentation formats, adapting tone, messaging, and detail for marketing, operations, and leadership audiences. Creates clear campaign briefs, status updates, program communications, and marketing resources.
