MP Materials is a US rare earth producer headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, that mines and refines rare earth materials and manufactures permanent magnets. It owns the Mountain Pass mine and processing facility in California, acquired in 2017 when the site was idle, makes magnets at its Independence facility in Fort Worth, Texas, and is building a second Texas magnet plant; its shares trade on the NYSE. Hiring is concentrated in Fort Worth and covers magnetics, process, controls and electrical engineers, laboratory analysts, prototyping technicians, EHS specialists and procurement and finance staff.

Company Overview:

MP Materials (NYSE: MP) is rebuilding American industrial capability for a new era of autonomy, robotics, and electrification.

We are the only U.S. company with a fully integrated rare earth supply chain-from mining and refining to advanced metal and magnet manufacturing. Our products include both the critical materials used to make permanent magnets and the finished magnets themselves-enabling next-generation technologies in robotics, automation, aerospace, transportation, defense, and energy systems. These materials are the foundation of physical AI-the convergence of computation, movement, and control.

We hire ambitious, mission-driven people who want to tackle complex challenges and shape the future of strategic industries. Our culture is rooted in teamwork, resiliency, and integrity, with a deep commitment to operational excellence and national purpose. MP is rapidly evolving from a materials producer into a leading U.S. manufacturer-and our people are driving that transformation.

Position Overview:

The Performance and Analytics Manager is responsible for shaping, leading, and delivering the performance, visualization, and analytics capability within the Capital Projects Digital Project Delivery team. The successful candidate will combine practical experience in large-scale engineering and industrial projects with strong technical fluency across project systems, financial and schedule information, master data, databases, artificial intelligence, and data visualization. This manager must be equally credible with engineering and Project Controls teams and with IT and finance teams. They will engage stakeholders across disciplines, translate business questions into governed information and analytical products, reconcile definitions across functions, and identify where workflows must produce and record data during project activities. This will support a continuous thread of information as it moves through Capital Projects, into turnover and operations, and into broader organizational use. The role will connect engineering, Project Controls, procurement, construction, commissioning, document control, finance, IT, and operations by bringing together the data, documents, information, and insights Capital Projects needs to deliver projects efficiently and to provide enterprise-level visibility.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Capital Projects performance and analytics capability within the Digital Project Delivery team, including its people, roadmap, priorities, standards, delivery methods, and stakeholder engagement model.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships across Capital Projects disciplines, IT, finance, operations, and leadership.
  • Lead master data management initiatives, including standards, ownership expectations, identifiers, metadata, quality rules, lineage, issue management, and acceptance criteria.
  • Identify where cross-discipline workflows must create, validate, record, and transfer data, documents, information, and metadata at the point of work.
  • Define and govern handoffs and control points that sustain a continuous information thread from project definition through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, handover, operations, and subsequent organizational use.
  • Design and maintain integrated analytical models that connect information across project systems, disciplines, documents, tags, equipment, materials, vendors, contracts, and lifecycle stages.
  • Build and govern executive, portfolio, and project-level dashboards that place information from multiple disciplines into context, explain project health and emerging trends, and support leadership decisions.
  • Gather, analyze, contextualize, and visualize metrics and KPIs across the Capital Projects portfolio, working with discipline leads to establish definitions, understand source information, identify trends and exceptions, and translate multidisciplinary performance information into actionable insights for project teams and leadership.
  • Work with Capital Projects disciplines to understand and interpret governed project performance information, connect it with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, document, and asset information, and use it as part of a broader view of project delivery.
  • Act as an AI super user for Capital Projects, modeling highly efficient and responsible use of AI and creating agentic workflows that increase team efficiency, support project-scenario evaluation, and provide reusable AI-enabled services to the Capital Projects team.
  • Design, build, test, document, and continuously improve AI-enabled and agentic workflows, with appropriate human review, validation, traceability, confidentiality, and operational controls.
  • Perform exploratory analysis and anomaly detection across connected project information to identify data gaps, inconsistent coding, unusual patterns, disconnected records, and emerging issues that require review by the responsible discipline owner.
  • Present options, opportunities, recommendations, and well-supported proposals to leadership, translating complex project information into clear, decision-useful visual and written narratives.
  • Lead, manage, coach, and develop analysts and technical contributors; allocate priorities; strengthen data literacy; and establish reusable templates, definitions, documentation, and development standards.
  • Manage employees, vendors, and consultants, including objectives, workload, stakeholder alignment, quality review, knowledge transfer, and delivery acceptance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, computer science, information systems, data analytics, finance, economics, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience spanning data, analytics, information management, project systems, or technology delivery, including substantial experience supporting industrial capital projects.
  • Industrial capital projects experience and practical knowledge of the information generated across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, document management, Project Controls, materials, tags, assets, and master data.
  • Demonstrated management or people-leadership experience, including setting priorities, coaching team members, managing delivery commitments, and leading cross-functional work.
  • Hands-on experience with analytics platforms and data visualization, including advanced Power BI capability in data modeling, measures, drill-through analysis, security concepts, and executive-level presentation.
  • Ability to work effectively with AI tools, databases, and coding or scripting environments to develop practical solutions, automate work, and connect project information.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as an AI super user by creating AI-enabled and agentic workflows that increase team efficiency, support project-scenario evaluation, and provide reusable services to Capital Projects.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, SQL, data integration, APIs, semantic models, metadata, lineage, master data management, and data-quality management.
  • Strong stakeholder management, coordination, and collaboration skills across Capital Projects disciplines, IT, finance, operations, and leadership.
  • Ability to present options, opportunities, recommendations, and well-supported proposals to leadership, translating complex information into clear business decisions.
  • Ability to work with Capital Projects disciplines to interpret governed project performance information and place it into the broader project-delivery context.

Desired Qualities:

  • Master's degree in a relevant technical, analytical, engineering, or business discipline.
  • Experience on both the owner side and consultant or EPC side of industrial capital project delivery.
  • Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry or a comparable analytics platform, Claude, Microsoft Copilot Studio, and Power Automate.
  • Ability to develop solutions using Python, Microsoft Fabric, data lakes, Azure data services, version control, or automated testing for data products.
  • Experience with SAP project information, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Oracle Aconex, Microsoft SharePoint, Primavera or comparable scheduling tools, and related project applications.
  • Experience leading master data management, data governance, KPI definitions, analytics product ownership, or a center-of-excellence model.
  • Experience applying AI governance practices to Capital Projects use cases, including responsible-use controls, validation, traceability, confidentiality, and human review.
  • Demonstrated experience creating agentic workflows that support Capital Projects, with the ability to explain or demonstrate the workflow, inputs, controls, outputs, and business value.
  • A portfolio, case study, or live demonstration that provides evidence of past performance in analytics, AI-enabled workflows, automation, or leadership decision support.
