Shape the Future of Cloud Infrastructure in Financial Services

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to play a critical role in delivering and evolving enterprise cloud platforms across a leading financial services organisation. This is an opportunity to lead the design, implementation, and support of secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure while contributing to strategic technology initiatives and infrastructure transformation.

As a technical leader within the infrastructure team, you will drive cloud solutions across Azure and AWS environments, provide expert guidance on complex technical challenges, and partner with business and technology stakeholders to ensure infrastructure services support current and future business needs.

What You'll Be Doing

Cloud Engineering & Architecture

• Design, implement and support enterprise cloud infrastructure solutions across Azure and AWS environments.
• Lead cloud infrastructure projects aligned with the technology roadmap.
• Evaluate, recommend and manage cloud technologies that meet business requirements.
• Apply infrastructure architecture principles to ensure secure, scalable and well-governed solutions.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, frameworks and best practices.

Operational Excellence

• Support mission-critical production environments, ensuring high availability and resilience.
• Act as an escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents and major severity issues.
• Deliver front-line support for Azure networking and cloud-based services.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance infrastructure performance, reliability and operational efficiency.
• Ensure incident, problem and change management processes are followed effectively.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Provide technical leadership across infrastructure initiatives and project delivery.
• Collaborate with business leaders, project teams and technology partners to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor team members and contribute to capability uplift across the infrastructure function.
• Partner with third-party vendors and managed service providers to ensure service excellence.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Support Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity Planning and audit activities.
• Maintain architecture, operational and procedural documentation.
• Ensure compliance with audit, security, risk and change management requirements.
• Stay informed on emerging cloud technologies and industry best practices.

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

• 10+ years' experience designing, implementing and supporting cloud infrastructure solutions.
• 10+ years' experience within a mission-critical, enterprise environment, ideally within financial services.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure.
• Experience supporting cloud workloads across Azure and AWS.
• Deep understanding of enterprise infrastructure, networking, systems administration and cloud operations.
• Proven experience leading complex infrastructure projects and technical initiatives.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within high-pressure environments.

Technical Skills

• Microsoft Azure (IaaS, Networking, Security, Governance).
• AWS cloud platform exposure.
• Enterprise networking and cloud connectivity.
• Infrastructure architecture and documentation practices.
• ITIL-aligned incident, change and problem management.
• Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Relevant Azure certifications highly regarded.
• AWS certifications advantageous.
