Software and Applications Manager

Job Summary

Responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, integration, and maintenance of enterprise software applications, with a focus on SAP ERP, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP Master Data Governance (MDG). Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to ensure that application solutions meet business requirements, comply with enterprise architecture standards, and support organizational objectives.

Lead technical teams in solution design, application development, integration, data governance, testing, deployment, and production support. Collaborate with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, project managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and maintainable enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

1. Application Architecture and Solution DesignLead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise software applications, particularly SAP S/4HANA and SAP Master Data Governance.Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable application solutions, technical designs, and implementation strategies.Define application architecture, data models, application workflows, validation rules, and integration patterns.Prepare and review solution design documents, functional specifications, technical specifications, and key design decisions.Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles, application standards, and SAP best practices.
2. Technical Leadership and Team SupervisionProvide technical leadership, guidance, and supervision to functional consultants, developers, and technical team members.Review technical designs, development deliverables, application configurations, and integration solutions.Coordinate technical activities, resolve complex application issues, and support root-cause analysis.Mentor team members and promote consistent development practices, technical quality, and knowledge sharing.Coordinate with project management and business teams to ensure timely delivery of technical milestones.
3. Enterprise Application Development and ConfigurationLead the design and configuration of SAP MDG solutions for Business Partner, Supplier, Customer, Material, and Finance master data.Design and implement master data governance processes, change request workflows, business rules, validations, derivations, and data quality controls.Provide technical guidance on SAP technologies, including ABAP, BAdIs, BRF+, FPM, GenIL, Web Dynpro, OData, SAP Gateway, and web services.Oversee application enhancements, custom development, defect resolution, and performance improvements.Ensure that application changes meet functional requirements, technical standards, and quality expectations.
4. System Integration and Data ArchitectureDesign and coordinate end-to-end integration between SAP applications and external enterprise platforms using APIs, web services, IDocs, RFCs, and middleware.Lead integration design involving SAP BTP Integration Suite and relevant enterprise integration platforms.Coordinate with integration teams to define interface specifications, data mappings, error handling, and reconciliation processes.Ensure consistency, integrity, and reliability of data exchanged between enterprise applications.Support integration testing, troubleshooting, and resolution of cross-system issues.
5. Data Governance and MigrationLead SAP master data governance and migration activities for enterprise transformation and SAP S/4HANA implementation programs.Define data migration approaches, mapping rules, transformation logic, validation procedures, and data quality controls.Coordinate mock data loads, migration testing, cutover preparation, production data loads, and post-load validation.Collaborate with business and technical teams to resolve data quality issues and obtain business validation and sign-off.Establish reusable governance standards and migration practices to support global application rollouts.
6. Project Delivery, Testing, and DeploymentLead technical activities throughout the software implementation lifecycle, from requirements analysis and solution design through development, testing, deployment, and hypercare.Coordinate functional and technical unit testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, and regression testing.Review and resolve application defects, technical risks, and implementation dependencies.Support release planning, transport management, cutover execution, production readiness, and transition to application support.Ensure application deliverables meet agreed scope, quality, and implementation timelines.
7. Stakeholder and Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with business stakeholders, enterprise architecture, project management, global process owners, and functional and technical teams.Lead technical workshops, requirement discussions, design reviews, and solution assessments.Communicate technical risks, design decisions, dependencies, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.Coordinate with external vendors and technology teams to deliver integrated enterprise application solutions.Prepare technical documentation and conduct knowledge-transfer sessions for application support and operations teams.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive experience in enterprise software applications, SAP ERP, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP Master Data Governance.
• Strong experience in SAP solution architecture, application design, technical analysis, and implementation delivery.
• Experience leading technical teams and supervising application design, development, integration, testing, and deployment activities.
• Strong knowledge of SAP MDG data modelling, workflow, BRF+, validations, derivations, data replication, and data quality management.
• Experience with SAP integration technologies, APIs, web services, middleware, and enterprise application interfaces.
• Experience in master data migration, data transformation, testing, cutover, and production deployment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, communication, and technical decision-making skills.
