Research Fellow (Coupled Multiphysics Modelling)

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Nanyang Technological University is a leading school for Sustainable Built Environment. It has over 60 faculty members and more than 1,500 students and is rapidly expanding its range of education and research activities. The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) aims at exploring and utilizing the underground space in a sustainable manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop advanced experimental apparatus to investigate coupled multiphysics processes in porous materials (e.g., clay).
• Develop constitutive models and numerical tools to simulate the thermo-hydro-mechanical behavior of Singapore soils and investigate the thermomechanical performance of geostructures.
• Publish high-quality research findings in leading peer-reviewed journals.
• Assist in securing external funding through the preparation of grant applications and research proposals.

Job Requirements:

• PhD in Civil Engineering or related field
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in triaxial testing and constitutive modelling
• Excellent programming skills, such as Python, MATLAB, or other competent languages.
• A good record of publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals or conferences
• Proficiency in written and spoken communication
• Previous experience in proposal writing is a plus
