Research Fellow (Geophysics/Geomechanical)

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Nanyang Technological University is a leading school for Sustainable Built Environment. It has over 50 faculty members and more than 1,500 students and is rapidly expanding its range of education and research activities.

The Centre for Urban Solutions in the School of CEE is to provide leadership in developing innovative solutions and sustainable technologies for space creation and urban infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities:

• To be involved in research projects related to marine geophysics and data analytics.

• Development of marine geophysical survey and machine learning algorithms.

• Mainly responsible for processing geophysical/geomechanical data and analysing the data using machine learning.

• Conducting research, supervising undergraduate students, and writing project reports and scientific articles.

Job Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in geophysics or equivalent and a PhD degree in geophysics / geomechanics or equivalent from a recognized university.

• Good knowledge of geophysics and geomechanics.

• Good verbal and written communication.

• Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members.

• Experience in geophysical/geomechanical investigation and machine learning is desirable.

• Working or research experience in geophysics of at least 1 year is desirable.

• Familiarity with geophysical/geomechanical investigation, data analytics, and machine learning.
