Nemak is a Mexican automotive supplier that develops and manufactures lightweight aluminum and multi-material components for e-mobility, structure and chassis, and combustion powertrain applications, headquartered in Garcia near Monterrey. Founded in Monterrey in 1979, it employed about 23,400 people at 44 production facilities worldwide in 2025 and generated revenue of about USD 4.9 billion, with plants in Mexico, the US, Germany, Austria, China and elsewhere. It hires plant engineers, maintenance and melt supervisors, purchasing buyers, quality engineers, IT specialists and finance staff, plus working students in Germany.

Objective

As an apprentice in the industrial sector at Nemak Wernigerode GmbH, you'll start directly in our modern, in-house training workshop and remain there for a total of 3.5 years. After passing the AP1 (first practical exam), you'll move to the specialist departments in your second year and gain practical experience. In your fourth year, you'll return to the training workshop to receive targeted preparation for your final exam.

Why this benefits you: We are an examination center for many trades - this means you'll learn directly through real-world projects and be ideally prepared for your final exam.

Tasks

Mechatronics technicians work with mechanical, electrical, and electronic components. They maintain, inspect, and repair machines and systems, analyze malfunctions, and repair defective parts.

They also program and install modern control systems. The profession combines mechanics and electronics, encompassing everything from metalworking and welding to soldering circuit boards and designing circuits.

Ultimately, all the individual components come together to form a perfectly coordinated system.

Profile

- Secondary school leaving certificate or (vocational) high school diploma, ideally with good

grades in mathematics and physics

- Interest in electronic components, programming, and metalworking

- Analytical thinking and a structured work approach

- Willingness to learn, commitment, and teamwork skills

- Good knowledge of German, mathematics, and physics, and ideally, English skills
