Debtors Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the debtors and collections team.
• Monitor outstanding balances, aged debtors reports and collection targets.
• Drive effective debt collection strategies to minimise overdue accounts and reduce bad debt.
• Manage escalated accounts, payment disputes and complex customer queries.
• Ensure timely follow-ups on outstanding invoices and adherence to agreed payment terms.
• Allocate customer payments and oversee accurate account reconciliations.
• Monitor team performance against collection targets, KPIs and turnaround times.
• Prepare and present debtors reports, cash collection forecasts and ageing analyses to management.
• Identify trends in overdue accounts and implement corrective action plans.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping, compliance with credit policies and effective credit control procedures.

Minimum Requirements :

• Relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting, Credit Management or a related field will be advantageous.
• Proven experience in a Debtors Supervisor, Credit Control Supervisor or senior Accounts Receivable role.
• Demonstrated experience supervising, mentoring or coordinating a debtors or collections team.
• Strong understanding of the full debtors function, including collections, reconciliations, account queries and aged debt.
• Proven ability to manage collection targets, monitor KPIs and improve cash flow.
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting or ERP systems.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
