Junior Field Technician

Our client is a well-established national retailer with a strong footprint across South Africa, committed to delivering seamless customer experiences through reliable and innovative technology solutions.

As a Junior Field Technician, you will provide first-line onsite and remote IT support across stores, offices, and operational sites throughout KwaZulu-Natal. Working closely with experienced IT professionals, you'll gain valuable hands-on exposure to troubleshooting, equipment deployments, preventative maintenance, and user support within a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and resolve routine technical issues while ensuring accurate ticket and documentation management
• Assist with device deployments, installations, upgrades, and store technology rollouts
• Conduct preventative maintenance, site inspections, and basic connectivity troubleshooting
• Maintain accurate asset management records and equipment tracking
• Escalate complex infrastructure, security, or application-related issues where required

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Matric with relevant IT training, certification, or qualification
• 0-2 years' experience in IT Support, Helpdesk, Desktop Support, or a similar technical role
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking fundamentals, and peripheral devices
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-service-oriented approach
• Ability to accurately document work completed and follow established support procedures
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly throughout KwaZulu-Natal
• Retail or multi-site support experience would be advantageous
