Web3 Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the day-to-day accounting function across an allocated client portfolio.
• Maintain books and records, including bookkeeping, transaction processing and reconciliations.
• Prepare and post journals using QuickBooks Online or Xero.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts, including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow reporting.
• Prepare budgets, runway and variance analyses, and monitor agreed KPIs.
• Prepare transparency reports for client communities and boards for senior review.
• Monitor cash flow and treasury positions across fiat and digital asset holdings.
• Process and reconcile payments across banking platforms and digital asset wallets.
• Reconcile banking and custody accounts and promptly investigate unexplained movements.
• Apply established KYC and wallet-screening procedures, escalating exceptions where required.
• Provide regular financial updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Liaise with international teams and external service providers, including banks, custodians and administrators.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• CA(SA), AGA(SA), CIMA, SAIPA or ACCA qualification is essential.
• 2-3+ years’ post-qualification experience in finance or accounting.
• Strong experience preparing management accounts and managing a finance function end to end.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Xero.
• Sound understanding of payments, financial controls and reconciliations.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after onboarding.
• Strong accountability, ownership and problem-solving ability.
• Confident written and verbal communication skills, including interaction with senior and international stakeholders.
