POSITION INFO:
A growing and family-oriented business is seeking a motivated Assistant Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to build on their accounting experience and take the next step in their career.
The successful candidate will assist with financial reporting, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and financial analysis, while working closely with the wider finance team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Prepare and maintain financial statements.
- Analyse financial information and investigate variances.
- Process accounting transactions and ensure accurate data capture.
- Perform bank, supplier, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end reporting processes.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with audit preparation and compliance requirements.
- Provide ad hoc support to the finance team as required.
- BCom Accounting, Finance, or related Degree.
- 1-2 years' accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience preparing financial statements advantageous.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working on Sage One or similar accounting systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
