SUMMARY:
A specialised multidisciplinary engineering organisation requires a Junior Process Engineer to support the design and delivery of chemical, energetic-material and high-hazard production facilities.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with process design calculations, mass and energy balances
- Develop and update PFDs, P&IDs, process descriptions and equipment data sheets
- Support equipment sizing, process specifications and technical documentation
- Assist with HAZOP studies, risk assessments and design reviews
- Support pilot-plant trials, process scale-up and technology development
- Participate in equipment installation, testing and commissioning
- Assist with technical evaluations of supplier proposals
- Coordinate process information with piping, mechanical, civil, structural and EC&I teams
- Support site surveys, plant modifications and as-built documentation
- Maintain accurate calculations, drawings and engineering records
Minimum Requirements
- BEng or BSc in Chemical Engineering
- Up to 3 years of process engineering experience
- Understanding of PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances and equipment design
- Strong numerical, analytical and technical-reporting ability
- Interest in chemical plant, process safety and project engineering
- Valid driver’s licence
Advantageous
- Chemical, petrochemical, mining chemical, explosives or EPC exposure
- Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus or similar process software
- Exposure to HAZOP, hazardous chemicals or batch processes
