DevOps Architect

Responsibilities:

• Design and architect highly scalable, highly available AWS infrastructure for large-scale applications.
• Own the DevOps and cloud architecture strategy, standards, and best practices.
• Design infrastructure capable of supporting high traffic, large transaction volumes, and rapid growth.
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines for reliable and automated software delivery.
• Design and manage containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes/EKS.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Drive automation across infrastructure provisioning, deployments, configuration management, and operational processes.
• Design multi-AZ / multi-region architectures, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity solutions.
• Establish robust monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability across infrastructure and applications.
• Implement DevSecOps practices, including IAM, secrets management, vulnerability management, and infrastructure security.
• Identify and resolve performance, scalability, reliability, and infrastructure bottlenecks.
• Optimise AWS infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency.
• Work closely with Engineering, Architecture, Security, Product, and SRE teams.
• Mentor and guide DevOps/SRE engineers and establish engineering best practices.

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with EC2 EKS, ECS, VPC, subnets, security groups, IAM, S3 RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, ELB / ALB / NLB, Route 53 CloudFront, auto scaling, CloudWatch, SQS / SNS, KMS, and Secrets Manager.
• Experience in Kubernetes and Containers: Kubernetes / Amazon EKS, Docker, Helm, container orchestration and scaling, and Kubernetes networking and security.
• Knowledge in Infrastructure as Code: Terraform strong hands-on experience preferred, CloudFormation.
• Experience in Ansible or similar configuration-management tools: CI/CD.
• Experience with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, AWS CodePipeline / CodeBuild.
• Strong hands-on experience in observability: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK / OpenSearch, CloudWatch, Datadog / New Relic or similar platforms.
• Knowledge in Scripting and Automation: Python, Bash / Shell scripting, infrastructure and deployment automation.
• Strong understanding of: Distributed systems, Microservices architecture, High availability, fault tolerance, Auto-scaling, load balancing, multi-region architecture, Disaster Recovery, Zero-downtime deployments, Blue-Green / Canary deployments, Performance and capacity planning.
• The candidate should have proven experience working on large-scale production environments, such as: High-traffic consumer applications, e-commerce platforms, FinTech / banking platforms, large SaaS platforms, platforms serving millions of users, high-volume transaction systems, and distributed systems with multiple services and teams.
• Candidates who have only managed small- or medium-scale infrastructure environments may not be suitable for this role.
