Nexperia is a Dutch semiconductor company created in 2017 when NXP separated its standard products division, and it makes the discrete transistors, diodes, logic devices and power management chips that appear in almost every electronic product. These are high-volume, low-price parts shipped in the tens of billions annually, where the competitive question is manufacturing cost and supply reliability rather than design sophistication. Headquartered in Nijmegen and owned by the Chinese group Wingtech, it has been at the centre of European and British government interventions over foreign ownership of semiconductor capacity.
Backed by YES!Delft

At Nexperia, our R&D department is expanding its Product Modelling team with the addition of a Product Modelling Engineer.

If you enjoy solving problems, have a scientific mindset and a desire to realise ideas into real products that our customers will use in the future, this could be the role for you. In return, we offer you lots of scope to develop while building your skills through structured training, mentoring, and hands-on project work, and making a real impact on a global semiconductor manufacturer producing over 100 billion devices every year.

What you will do

We are looking for a Product Modelling Engineer who is keen to develop new ways of modelling electrical behaviour and help bring our next generation of products to life.

You will take ownership of a wide variety of initiatives to predict the performance of our new technologies. Using innovative thinking, you will simulate how our technologies would work under various scenarios to create new or improved products for our customers. Working with development teams across the organisation, you will develop innovative Virtual Prototyping methods to solve physics, electronics and manufacturing problems.

You will:

  • Develop and validate virtual prototyping for advanced power MOSFET platforms
  • Develop all new silicon technologies with simulation support
  • Collaborate with international engineering teams to solve complex device challenges
  • Support internal and external customers through problem-solving and training

What you will need

Essential

  • BSc/MSc/MEng/PhD in relevant engineering background (electronics/semiconductor physics/mathematics)
  • To be a self-motivated learner who enjoys tackling new technical challenges
  • Prior experience in a similar or relevant field

Beneficial

  • Circuit simulation and/or SPICE modelling experience
  • Knowledge of Power semiconductor principles
  • Strong maths skills for generating new modelling methods
  • Programming experience
