Mid to Senior Backend Developer

We are now growing our Development team to support the expansion of our client portfolio and the ongoing development of our data sharing platforms across Europe and the MENA region. To this direction, we are seeking a Mid to Senior Backend Developer to join our Athens office, reporting to the Development Lead.

The role is hubrid on a full-time basis.

Role description

As a Fides Development Engineer, you will be part of the core team responsible for building and enhancing norbloc’s data sharing platforms. You will collaborate with other developers, QA engineers, and product managers to design, implement, test, and deliver high-quality features. The role requires solid engineering skills, problem-solving ability, and a proactive mindset to adapt to different client requirements and project contexts.

Duties and responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable features within the platform basis the product architecture and functionality.
• Collaborate with the Development and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical specifications and working solutions.
• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Contribute to the design and documentation of APIs and integrations of the platform.
• Optimize performance and security of the platform in line with client and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers.
• Ensure unit testing of all developed modules and services.
• Support troubleshooting, debugging, and resolution of issues across multiple environments.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies to continuously improve platform capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Node.js ( essential requirement)
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and SQL optimization.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git and issue tracking systems (e.g., JIRA).
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Modern frontend framework (Angular or React)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Fluency in English.
• Experience in Fintech, RegTech or enterprise SaaS and familiarity with blockchain-based platforms or distributed architectures will be considered as a plus.
• 5+ years of experience will be considered for a more senior scope of responsibilities
