Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Space Systems Sector for a Co-op. This position will be located in Chandler, Arizona. The successful candidate should plan to work full time during the Summer and Fall semesters (June-December 2027).
As a co-op, you’ll participate in a co-op program to develop competencies in a variety of Mechanical engineering specializations that may include:
Roles and Responsibilities
Performs a variety of duties in the mechanical areas. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.
Basic Qualifications
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
- • Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university AND graduating after December 2027
- • Be majoring in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- • Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) from June - December 2027
- • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Intern and Co-op Pay Range:
Bachelor’s: $18.50 to $33.50 per hour
Master’s: $26.25 to $41.50 per hour
At Northrop Grumman, our internship and co-op pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.
Primary Level Salary Range: $1.00 - $1.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
