NTT

NTT is a Japanese telecommunications and technology group whose predecessor was established in 1952 as the state telephone monopoly and privatised in 1985. It is one of the largest telecoms operators in the world, running Japan's fixed and mobile networks through NTT Docomo, a global IT services business through NTT Data, and one of the biggest data centre portfolios on the planet. The group invests heavily in long-horizon research, most visibly the IOWN initiative to rebuild networks and computing around photonics rather than electronics, and it develops the lightweight tsuzumi family of Japanese language models.
