Senior Principal Forward Deployed Engineer

The Senior Principal Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) serves as a highly skilled technical bridge between customer needs, business outcomes, and technology solutions. Working directly within customer environments, this role partners with business and technical stakeholders to understand highly complex challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and design, develop, deploy, and optimize solutions that deliver measurable value.

The Senior Principal FDE possesses deep expertise in company and partner platforms, products, accelerators, and reusable assets and applies this expertise to solve complex customer-specific business and technical problems. Combining engineering, solution architecture, consulting, and customer engagement capabilities, the Senior Principal FDE leads and guides highly complex solution initiatives across the end-to-end lifecycle, from discovery and design through implementation, adoption, optimization, and continuous improvement.

Operating with a high degree of independence, the Senior Principal FDE applies advanced technical expertise and sound judgment to address complex customer challenges, establishes and promotes best practices, contributes to reusable assets and implementation approaches, and supports customer success through innovative, scalable, and sustainable technology solutions. The Senior Principal FDE is recognized as a subject matter expert and provides technical guidance and mentorship across teams and customer engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with customers and stakeholders to understand strategic business objectives, complex challenges, and desired outcomes, translating requirements into technology-enabled solutions that deliver measurable business value.

• Lead the team of FDE and Senior FDEs in a particular geography and mentor them towards client success

• Provide technical and thought leadership in AI

• Help FDE and Senior FDE in overcome technical challenges in client environments

• Lead the design, implementation, customization, integration, and optimization of company and partner platforms, products, accelerators, and reusable assets to address highly complex business and technical requirements.

• Guide highly complex solution initiatives across the lifecycle, including discovery, design, development, deployment, adoption, optimization, and value realization.

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with business, technical, and senior stakeholders, providing expert guidance and influencing solution decisions across customer engagements.

• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, product, delivery, and operational teams to ensure successful implementation, adoption, scalability, and continuous improvement of solutions.

• Resolve highly complex business, technical, and operational challenges through advanced problem-solving, technical expertise, and sound judgment.

• Identify emerging customer needs, solution opportunities, and improvement areas through a combination of customer insights, domain expertise, and platform capabilities.

• Capture field insights, customer feedback, and implementation learnings to influence product enhancements, accelerators, reusable assets, implementation approaches, and delivery practices.

• Establish, promote, and drive adoption of best practices, reusable patterns, implementation standards, and delivery methodologies to improve solution quality, consistency, and scalability.

• Provide technical leadership through mentoring, coaching, and knowledge sharing, helping to strengthen capability and delivery excellence across teams.

Required Qualifications and Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, Business Technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Relevant certifications in cloud technologies, solution architecture, agile delivery, data, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, or related disciplines are highly desirable.

Required Experience:

• Extended years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, consulting, customer engineering, technology delivery, or related technology disciplines.

• Extended experience working directly with enterprise customers and stakeholders within customer-facing environments.

• Extended experience leading highly complex solution engagements, including discovery, design, implementation, deployment, adoption, optimization, and value realization activities.

• Extended experience implementing, configuring, integrating, extending, customizing, and optimizing enterprise platforms, products, or technology solutions within customer environments.

• Extended experience translating complex business, operational, and domain requirements into scalable technology solutions that deliver measurable outcomes.

• Extended experience collaborating across engineering, architecture, product, delivery, and business teams to drive successful customer outcomes.

• Extended experience resolving highly complex business and technical challenges independently using advanced judgment and technical expertise.

• Extended experience establishing and promoting best practices, implementation approaches, reusable assets, methodologies, or delivery standards.

• Extended experience providing technical guidance, mentoring, coaching, and capability development across teams and engagements.
