Job Description

Senior Data Scientist performs the following duties and responsibilities:

• utilization of specified machine learning and deep learning models;

• lead, mentor, and manage a team of data scientists and researchers to deliver impactful AI projects;

• foster a collaborative and innovative culture, encouraging the team to explore new methodologies and technologies;

• oversee the development and deployment of scalable machine learning models and algorithms;

• conduct exploratory data analysis and model evaluation to direct research efforts;

• author and contribute to research publications, presenting findings at conferences and workshops;

• collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate AI solutions with domain-specific knowledge;

• communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively;

• partner with external organizations, universities, or consortia to drive collaborative research projects;

• stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, incorporating relevant technologies and methodologies;

• put machine learning and deep algorithms into practice;

• provide reports about model performances;

• transfer knowledge including practical skills, methods and techniques;

• contribute to the preparation of proposals and applications to external bodies, e.g. for funding and accreditation purposes;

• promote and market the work of the Institute in the subject area both nationally and internationally;

• participation in identification, evaluation, management and monitoring of risks within the framework of supervised direction;

Qualifications

Higher-professional, preferable from the higher education institutions with English language of instruction;

Preferably PhD degree in Computer Science, Machine learning or equivalent.

Priority specializations:

- Computer Science;

- Artificial Intelligence;

- Mathematics;

- Robotics or equivalent.

No less than 5 years of professional experience.

Required skills:

- knowledge of the development of machine learning and deep learning models;

- knowledge of Linux operating system software and related equipment;

- knowledge of machine learning;

- knowledge of the development of algorithms and models of artificial intelligence;

- knowledge of MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint;

- knowledge of development in the Linux environment;

- fluency in English, Kazakh and Russian languages.

- good programming skills;

- expertise in NLP and/or CV;

- skills to recognize and evaluate artificial intelligence models;

- strong communication skills.
