NXP Semiconductors is a Dutch chipmaker established in 2006 when Philips spun out its semiconductor division, and it concentrates on embedded processing rather than general purpose computing. Its largest market is automotive, where it supplies radar sensors, vehicle networking, battery management and the secure processors behind keyless entry and digital car keys, alongside industrial and internet of things microcontrollers, mobile secure elements and communications infrastructure silicon. Headquartered in Eindhoven and listed on Nasdaq, it is one of the leading suppliers of near field communication and automotive processing chips in the world.

The Facilities Contract & Demand Manager connects business stakeholders, Facilities specialists and service providers to align non-industrial facility services with business needs at the NXP Nijmegen site. Responsible for tactical and strategic management, the role creates a professional, efficient and future-ready environment for offices, laboratories and support functions. It combines demand management, contract and supplier management, accommodation planning, project ownership and stakeholder management within a complex and dynamic environment.

The role leads and coordinates non-industrial facility projects, including building modifications and technical infrastructure upgrades, in close collaboration with Facilities Engineering and technical service providers. Its contribution is to translate stakeholder needs into practical facility solutions and informed project decisions, complementing its contract and stakeholder management responsibilities.

While not acting as the technical specialist, the role requires sufficient technical understanding to challenge proposals, evaluate solutions, understand project risks, and make informed decisions regarding facilities-related investments and projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main Facilities contact for all non-industrial buildings and their occupants. Develop and maintain trusted relationships with senior management, department managers, laboratory owners, Facilities, Security, Purchasing, IT, and contractors, leveraging these relationships to understand stakeholder needs, resolve issues, balance competing demands, and establish clear priorities and coordinated actions.
  • Own and manage non-industrial facility projects, including renovations, relocations, workplace adaptations, building modifications and technical infrastructure upgrades, in close collaboration with Facilities Engineering and service providers.
  • Review and manage contracts with all Facilities vendors in close cooperation with Global Procurement, ensuring appropriate commercial terms, service scope and contract performance. The role combines this Facilities-wide contract responsibility with demand management for the non-industrial domain.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and drive service quality, cost control, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Review supplier quotations and challenge commercial and technical assumptions with support from the relevant engineering specialists.
  • Develop and coordinate office housing and workplace plans that meet business, operational and employee needs.
  • Coordinate with the municipality, real-estate stakeholders and surrounding construction companies regarding spatial developments, permits, construction activities and infrastructure projects affecting the site.
  • Monitor significant facility requests and issues, set priorities, and coordinate follow-up with the appropriate operational contact or Facilities Engineering, ensuring that each request reaches the team responsible for addressing it.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, multi-year plans and business cases for the non-industrial domain, balancing operational needs, technical scope, cost and risk.

Your Profile

We are looking for a confident, people-oriented business partner who builds trust by listening, understanding different perspectives and developing constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You move effectively between operational matters, technical project discussions and strategic decision-making, using technical understanding to translate business needs into practical solutions. Results-oriented and analytical, you communicate clearly, challenge suppliers constructively, and bring structure to competing demands, converting them into practical, sustainable improvements.

Desired Background

  • Bachelor's or master's level of working and thinking, with a background that combines business understanding with sufficient technical literacy. Preferred disciplines include Construction Engineering, Technical Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in facility management, contract management, accommodation, workplace management or a comparable environment.
  • Experience managing facility or building-related projects and working closely with engineers, contractors and technical service providers.
  • Experience in supplier management and outsourced facility services, including contract, quotation and performance reviews.
  • Knowledge of project management, budget management, business cases and stakeholder management.
  • Sufficient technical understanding of building systems and infrastructure, such as HVAC, to assess proposals, identify risks and coordinate informed decisions with technical specialists.
  • Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English.

Why This Role?

This role offers a unique opportunity to directly influence the working environment of thousands of employees, further professionalize facility services and make an important contribution to the development of the NXP Nijmegen site.
