Game UI Motion Designer
Realistic Mobile Game | Unity
About the Role
This is an on-site role based in Singapore. Candidates must be willing to relocate to or work on-site in Singapore.
We are looking for a Game UI Motion Designer to join our realistic-style mobile game project. This role focuses on creating polished UI animations, interface transitions, interaction feedback, event packaging, and system presentation effects for a Unity-based game.
The ideal candidate has strong motion design skills, a good sense of timing and visual rhythm, and understands how UI animation can improve both presentation quality and user experience.
Responsibilities
- Create UI motion design for a realistic Unity mobile game, including interface transitions, button feedback, pop-up animations, page switching, reward feedback, onboarding highlights, and system/event packaging.
- Design motion concepts based on the project’s UI style, gameplay needs, feature flow, and user experience goals.
- Improve interface responsiveness, visual rhythm, information clarity, and overall polish through well-crafted UI animation.
- Work closely with UI artists, engineers, and game designers to define motion solutions and bring them into Unity.
- Create motion previews, prototypes, and animation references using After Effects, Spine, Unity, or other relevant tools.
- Prepare animation assets, split resources, and provide implementation-friendly motion specs for engineering support.
- Build reusable UI animation components and contribute to motion guidelines, asset standards, and workflow documentation.
- Ensure UI motion design is visually polished, readable, performance-conscious, and consistent with the project’s realistic art direction.
Requirements
- Strong visual sense and motion design ability, with a solid understanding of timing, easing, rhythm, motion curves, physicality, and visual guidance.
- Experience creating UI animation or motion design for games, mobile apps, or interactive products.
- Familiar with realistic game UI styles and able to create polished, controlled, readable, and responsive motion design.
- Proficient with After Effects and Spine; familiar with Unity animation tools, Unity Particle System, or related real-time implementation workflows.
- Able to independently create common UI motion assets such as button feedback, pop-up transitions, page transitions, highlight animations, reward animations, event packaging, and feature presentation sequences.
- Understands the functional role of UI animation, including feedback, hierarchy, focus, information delivery, and user flow.
- Able to design motion that can be clearly understood, reproduced, and implemented in Unity.
- Good understanding of asset preparation, resource splitting, reusable components, and animation production standards.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with UI, engineering, and design teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Unity-based commercial mobile games or shipped projects.
- Experience with SLG, RPG, survival, war, sci-fi, or realistic-style game projects.
- Strong Spine experience for animated UI elements.
- Experience managing or reviewing outsourced Spine/UI animation assets.
- Ability to create high-quality motion concepts or demo-stage UI motion prototypes in After Effects.
- Familiarity with Shader Graph, UI particles, material animation, or other real-time UI effects.
Portfolio Requirements
Please include a portfolio or demo reel that demonstrates:
- Game UI animation, interface transitions, button feedback, pop-up animations, reward feedback, and event/system packaging.
- Examples created for mobile games, Unity projects, or interactive products.
- Motion breakdowns showing timing, easing, animation logic, or implementation notes are highly preferred.
- Spine, After Effects, or Unity in-engine examples are a plus.
