We are looking for self-motivated and enthusiastic Software Engineer in Test with Python and JavaScript who want to impact cybersecurity by continuing to advance, maintain, and enhance our platform features in Threat Detection & Response, Vulnerability Management, and Compliance Automation.
What you will be doing, your legacy:
Working with leadership, product management, engineering, and the Onapsis research team. You will design, implement, and execute test procedures to ensure software features work as intended. Focused on automation and advancing automation capabilities, you will also design, build, and use test automation and build automation to ensure our software always fulfills business solution requirements to protect our customers. Work collaboratively as part of a software engineer team aligned with cybersecurity researchers and product managers to iterate toward product definition and realization. Additionally, you will be working with the Architecture team to take the platform to the next level of maturity in terms of technologies, quality, and architecture design while advancing our quality engineering processes to deliver high-quality products and services.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop user-facing features and interfaces using modern front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks (React).
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of front-end components to ensure high performance and cross-browser compatibility.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in front-end development, incorporating new technologies and techniques as appropriate.
- Utilize Python to build backend services, APIs, and scripting solutions to support front-end functionality and enhance application features.
- Work alongside senior developers to contribute to the design and implementation of Python-based solutions, following best practices and coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and maintainability.
- Continuously expand your knowledge and skills in Python development through self-learning and mentorship opportunities.
- Conduct thorough testing of both front-end and backend components, identifying and addressing any issues or bugs in a timely manner.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues reported by customers or internal stakeholders, providing effective solutions and mitigations.
- Contribute to the improvement of development processes and workflows, advocating for best practices in software quality assurance and testing.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 2+ years of programming experience with Javascript, HTML, CSS
- 2+ years of programming experience with Python.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or relevant work experience.
- Experience with React
- Experience with tracking and testing tools, including Test Case Management, Project Planning Tools and Issue Tracking
- Experience with APIs (REST, GraphQL)
- Experience with Relational databases and ORMs (we use PostgreSQL and SQLAlchemy).
- Experience troubleshooting production environments using observability and monitoring tools
- Software development experience: Understanding software design, design patterns, coding principles, and agile development methodologies
- Ability to develop and maintain automation frameworks: This skill involves designing, implementing, and maintaining automation frameworks that are flexible, scalable, modular, and easy to maintain. This includes managing test data, handling reports, configuration management, etc.
- Communication and collaboration skills: Being able to work within a team, effectively communicate with developers, testers, and other team members to understand requirements.
Desired skills or interests in:
- Typescript knowledge
- Familiar with Django framework
- Container technology, i.e., Docker, Kubernetes
- Security software development best practices
- Asynchronous tasks/queues. (Celery, AMQP, MQTT, Redis)
- Cloud-native application development and Cloud Technologies
- Knowledge of CI / CD tooling, and Agile methodologies
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Experience with distributed computing and enterprise-wide systems
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience influencing software engineers' best practices within your team

Location: Onapsis established its development center in Bucharest three years ago. This is a hybrid role, so candidates must be commutable to Bucharest (One Park Cotroceni) 1-2 days per week.
