SDE - 3 - Backend

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems for high-performance applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in distributed systems, backend architecture, and database optimization, along with the ability to contribute to technical decision-making and mentor junior team members. The role requires a strong understanding of scalable system design, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native technologies in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable and fault-tolerant backend applications using Node.js .
• Architect, optimize, and manage relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Develop and maintain event-driven architectures using messaging systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Implement observability and monitoring solutions, including logging, tracing, and alerting mechanisms.
• Optimize backend services and APIs to achieve low latency and high throughput.
• Participate in system design discussions and recommend scalable and sustainable architectural solutions.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering best practices and coding standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across projects.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve scalability, performance, and concurrency-related issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of backend solutions.

Requirements:

• 5-7 years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Solid understanding of database design, query optimization, and data modeling principles.
• Extensive knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and event-driven systems.
• Hands-on experience with technologies such as Kafka, Redis, and scalable backend infrastructures.
• Experience working with containerization and orchestration tools, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Strong system design, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineering teams.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack will be considered an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in high-growth or large-scale technology environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
