Onsemi is an American semiconductor company that was spun out of Motorola in 1999 and has since narrowed itself from a broad commodity chip supplier into a focused power and sensing business. Its silicon carbide and silicon power devices go into electric vehicle traction inverters, chargers and industrial drives, while its image sensors are used in automotive cameras and industrial vision, and it has deliberately exited lower-margin product lines to concentrate on these markets. Headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona and listed on Nasdaq, it owns its own silicon carbide substrate manufacturing to secure supply.

The Global Industrial Engineering organization is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to support manufacturing optimization, capacity planning, advanced analytics, and digital transformation initiatives across onsemi's global manufacturing network. This position plays a key role in developing analytical solutions, capacity models, and decision-support tools that improve factory performance, resource utilization, and operational effectiveness.

The successful candidate will work closely with Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Planning, and Engineering teams to drive data-driven decision making and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites.

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing capacity models for strategic and operational planning.
  • Perform analysis of factory utilization, cycle time, throughput, bottlenecks, and production performance.
  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, automated reporting solutions, and analytical tools.
  • Support manufacturing planning, capacity forecasting, and scenario analysis.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and asset utilization.
  • Collaborate with global site teams to support operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze large datasets and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Support deployment of Industrial Engineering methodologies and best practices across manufacturing sites.
  • Participate in digital transformation initiatives involving analytics, optimization, and automation solutions.
  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and IT teams to support strategic business objectives.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Manufacturing Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing analytics, capacity planning, and optimization.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Semiconductor manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of queuing theory and manufacturing flow analysis.
  • Wafer fabrication (Wafer Fab) experience preferred.
  • Experience with capacity modeling, simulation, and operational research techniques is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a global manufacturing environment.
  • Experience developing dashboards, automated reporting solutions, and data-driven decision support tools preferred.
