Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Architect to support infrastructure modernization initiatives focused on containerized Java applications and enterprise platform engineering. This role will work closely with the Infrastructure and DevOps teams to design, build, optimize, and support container-based solutions, CI/CD processes, and application modernization efforts.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with deep expertise in Kubernetes, container technologies, JBoss/WildFly administration, and Azure DevOps, capable of working independently while contributing effectively within a cross-functional team. The role includes assisting with the modernization of existing application platforms, supporting secure container image development, and improving deployment automation and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and support containerized application platforms.
Assist with modernization and optimization of enterprise Java application deployments.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
Support JBoss/WildFly installation, configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting.
Work with container image creation, customization, and hardening efforts.
Implement and maintain Source-to-Image (S2I) build processes.
Support Kubernetes-based application deployments and operational activities.
Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to improve platform reliability and security.
Troubleshoot complex deployment, configuration, and runtime issues.
Document architecture, operational procedures, and implementation standards.
Operate independently with minimal supervision while providing technical leadership and guidance.
Required Qualifications
Strong experience with container technologies and containerized application platforms.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
Extensive experience administering and configuring JBoss/WildFly environments.
Experience building and maintaining Azure DevOps (ADO) and ArgoCD pipelines.
Experience with Source-to-Image (S2I) build processes.
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
Experience working with Linux-based systems.
Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AKS, K8s, and Rancher SUSE.
Experience supporting enterprise Java applications.
Experience with Docker image creation, customization, and optimization.
Knowledge of infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code.
Experience with vulnerability remediation and secure software delivery practices.
Familiarity with enterprise application modernization initiatives.
