Your mission:
As a Solutions Engineer based in Germany, you will act as atrusted technical advisor and the technical win leader in complex security engagements. You work closely with experienced Sales Executives to shape security conversations from early discovery through solution design, RFP defence, and customer handover.
This is not a “demo-only” role. You will influence architecture decisions, challenge legacy security approaches, and link technical choices to measurable risk reduction and business outcomes. Your goal is to help customers modernisetheir security operations using Microsoft Defender and Sentinel as the foundation.
Your impact:
- Lead the technical strategy for complex opportunities across Austria and parts of the DACH region
- Build trusted relationships with CISOs, Heads of IT, and security architects
- Translate Microsoft security capabilities into clear operational and business value
- Help grow Ontinue’sfootprint in Austria with strong local market understanding and global backing
What you will do:
- Assess customer security posture, requirements, and technical requirements
- Deliver compelling presentations and live demos of Ontinue’sMXDR services
- Lead technical workshops and architecture sessions
- Own and drive RFP responses, including customer-facingRFP presentations
- Challenge customers’ legacy or fragmented security approaches withmodern,best-practicesolutions
- Ensure a high-qualityhandover of new customers to account management and delivery
What success looks like (your first 90 days)
- Build strong working relationships with Sales Executives and fellow Solutions Engineers
- Develop a deep understanding of Ontinue’sMXDR platform and services
- Confidently contribute to customer discovery and early-stage engagements
- Support Austrian partners and regional stakeholders
What we are looking for:
- Strong technical background in cybersecurity, including Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Sentinel, and the broader Microsoft E5 Security stack
- Solid understanding of identity security, endpoint security, cloudand network security
- Experience leading customer-facingtechnical discussions and workshops
- Familiarity with the Austrian and DACH SOC landscape
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in German (native) and English
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with sales, productand delivery teams
- Willingness to travel for customer engagements and industry events
Must-have
- Native German speaker, fluent in English (written and verbal)
- Proven experience in a Solutions Engineer / Sales Engineer or comparable customer-facingtechnical role in IT security
Nice-to-have
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent hands-onexperience
