Billing Accountant

Work Location: Fully Remote (US)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Accountant to manage our billing cycle, ensure accurate and timely invoicing, and support the accounts receivable process. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a solid grasp of accounting principles, and experience working with billing systems and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and issueaccuratecustomer invoicesin accordance withcontracts, pricing agreements, and company policies
• Reconcile billing data against contracts, purchase orders, and service records to ensure accuracy
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on outstanding balances
• Process credit memos, adjustments, and refunds as needed
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, disputes, and customer inquiries
• Maintainaccuratebilling records and supporting documentation for audit purposes
• Collaborate with sales, operations, and customer service teams to ensure billing accuracy
• Assistwith month-end close activities, including revenue recognition and account reconciliations
• Generate billing reports and metrics for management review
• Identifyopportunities to improve billing processes and systems
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, GAAP, and applicable regulations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2+ years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or general accounting
• Required:hands-on experience with NetSuite for billing, invoicing, and financial reporting
• Required:experience using Salesforce for managing customer/account data andsyncingwith billing workflows
• Strong Excel skills; experience with formulas, pivot tables, and reporting
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Understanding of GAAP and basic revenue recognition principles

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with contract billing, subscription billing, or usage-based billing models
• Experience with NetSuite-Salesforce integration tools or workflows
