The Senior Salesforce Sales Cloud Developer is responsible for architecting, designing, developing, and delivering scalable enterprise solutions on the Salesforce platform, with a primary focus on Sales Cloud. This role serves as a senior technical contributor and trusted advisor, partnering closely with architects, administrators, QA engineers, business stakeholders, and external integration teams to deliver strategic Salesforce initiatives.
The ideal candidate has 7+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, including extensive expertise in Sales Cloud architecture, Apex development, Lightning Web Components (LWC), enterprise integration patterns, and Salesforce best practices.
They possess strong analytical and communication skills, demonstrate confidence in driving technical discussions with cross-functional stakeholders, and proactively influence solution design decisions. The candidate should be outspoken, collaborative, and capable of translating complex technical concepts into business value while mentoring junior team members.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical design and development of scalable Salesforce Sales Cloud solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards and business objectives.
- Design and implement robust Salesforce solutions utilising Apex (classes, triggers, batch jobs, queueables, schedulers), Lightning Web Components (LWC), and declarative automation tools where appropriate.
- Serve as the technical lead for Sales Cloud initiatives involving Lead Management, Opportunity Management, Forecasting, Territory Management, Quotes, Products, Contracts, and Sales Processes.
- Define solution architecture and recommend optimal approaches balancing scalability, maintainability, security, and platform limitations.
- Design, develop, and oversee complex integrations between Salesforce and external applications using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, Platform Events, middleware platforms, and event-driven architectures.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and leadership teams to translate business strategies into technical roadmaps and implementation plans.
- Lead architecture discussions, technical workshops, and solution reviews while effectively communicating recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Establish and enforce Salesforce development standards, coding best practices, design patterns, security controls, and governor limit optimisation strategies.
- Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to developers to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend AppExchange products and emerging Salesforce capabilities to improve business outcomes and platform efficiency.
- Support end-to-end release activities utilising Salesforce DX, Git-based source control, Copado, Gearset, or equivalent CI/CD deployment frameworks.
- Collaborate with QA teams to define testing strategies, resolve defects, and ensure successful deployments across development, QA, staging, and production environments.
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, retrospectives, and technical estimation sessions.
- Drive root-cause analysis and resolution of production issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation including architecture diagrams, integration specifications, design documents, and release artefacts.
- Continuously identify opportunities to optimise Sales Cloud capabilities, improve user adoption, and enhance overall platform performance.
- Attend and provide input to Scrum ceremonies, and provide level of effort estimates for sprint planning.
- Provide effort estimation for projects and user stories.
- Continuously improve development practices, reusable components, and platform utilisation across the Salesforce team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 7+ years of progressive Salesforce development experience, including significant experience delivering enterprise-scale Sales Cloud implementations.
- Strong expertise in Salesforce Sales Cloud capabilities and architecture, including Lead-to-Cash processes and complex sales lifecycle management.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Apex development, including triggers, classes, asynchronous processing (Batch, Queueable, Scheduled), and advanced testing methodologies.
- Advanced experience building Lightning Web Components (LWC) and designing Lightning user experiences using Lightning App Builder.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture principles, governor limits, performance optimisation techniques, and enterprise design patterns.
- Demonstrated experience architecting and implementing integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, OAuth, Platform Events, Named Credentials, middleware platforms, and authentication frameworks.
- Solid understanding of Salesforce security architecture including OWD, Roles, Profiles, Permission Sets, Sharing Models, and compliance considerations.
- Experience with Salesforce DX, Visual Studio Code, Git repositories, branching strategies, and source-driven development methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD and release management tools such as Copado, Gearset, Jenkins, or equivalent deployment frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead technical discussions, influence architectural decisions, and effectively communicate with executives, business stakeholders, and delivery teams.
- Experience mentoring junior developers and providing technical leadership across project teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and enterprise delivery practices.
- Salesforce Platform Developer I certification required.
- Salesforce Platform Developer II certification preferred.
- Salesforce Sales Cloud Consultant certification strongly preferred.
- Additional certifications such as Application Architect, Integration Architect, System Architect, or other Salesforce credentials are highly desirable.
